From the COVID thread...
I'd settle for him announcing that taking large amounts of cyanide won't cure covid.
Kinda funny story. When I was born, my youngest older brother (I have two) couldn’t pronounce my name. So, what he did call me, all adults found adorable so that’s what I was called throughout my childhood. When I reached puberty, and wanted to rebel but knowing I grew up in relative … wonderful even conditions, I had nothing to rebel against. So, I rebelled against the use of that name. No one calls me that anymore and sometimes it makes me a bit sad. But, at least I was self-aware enough to know that I had no clue what real oppression is.
Loving this for the unintentional self-own that may be going on
"And by all means, be in church Sunday morning! God's got this!"
If that's not a 'shopped message I'm impressed
After a quick Google search for the church's name, I think it's real. A few years ago they used their sign to acknowledge the existence of white privilege, and a whole bunch of local so-called "Christians" got their knickers in a twist.
UCC is toward the hippy end of the scale, our (older) pastor even took a shot at worshipping the 2nd Amendment last week, and this week the message and Scripture were very possibly aimed at people who put politics over Jesus. (I think we're all vaccinated though.) Best 1-2 sermons I've heard in a long time.
Okay, his banging teens today makes more sense now that it's obvious he wasn't getting laid in high school.
