Senate passes measure blocking Trump's border emergency
Building some kind of physical barrier between the U.S. and Mexico is the right thing to do, but the criminally arrogant president had chances to get at least partial funding on more than one occasion. I wouldn't have thought it possible for someone to be elected President as delusional as President Trump is. But his presidency (while not nearly as bad as most critics claim) is still a perfect argument for electing actual politicians rather than an "outside just because he's an outsider".
Is the fence around the White House useless? Or the walls and fences around countless gated communities in the U.S. useless?
It's a non-sequitur. You're advocating a nationally funded Spruce Goose in the drone age.
I think what brings Trump down to the moron level that you exist at is the wall doesn't even address the largest source of illegal immigration - people flying in on commercial carriers and overstaying their visas
Is the White House surrounded by a major river or 50 miles of desert?
We have fences in populated areas with hospitable terrain, and formidable natural barriers in others. Just like the border with Canada, which I notice Trumpsters aren't freaking out about for some mysterious reason.
Like I said before, it sets a bad precedent.
The 24/7 Secret Service detail around the White House suggests the answer is yes.
Trump is only concerned with visuals and how he looks on TV. He just wants to stand in front of it and look important. Plus it’s something his simple minded followers can think of. They don’t understand changes in law, but they can see a wall and touch it. That’s why he and his base are so crazy for it despite it being a waste of money.
I keep hearing this claim with no actual evidence to support it.
You seriously expect anyone to believe that over half a million illegals are people who were able to afford to fly to the U.S. and then simply overstayed their visas?
Hey post some actual evidence from an unbiased source and I'll believe it but until then....
"Me build big wall! Me have big penis!"
Parts of the border with Mexico goes through cities.
What does the Secret Service detail spend a lot of their time patrolling?
I'll give you a clue.
It's a FENCE!!
And that's where we have fencing. Some 700 miles of it.
And we know how well that worked out in Berlin.
The Berlin Wall's purpose was to keep East Berliners IN! Not to keep people out.
but be that as it was, the Berlin Wall actually reduced unauthorized crossings into West Berlin by something like 99%
What you meant to say is that the Berlin Wall kept East Berliners separated from their families and their livelihoods and caused numerous deaths. Which is exactly where it resembles Donnie Boy's wall.
And, guess what? More people escaped through the commuter lines, and tunnels, and privileged connections than were ever "kept in."
Then there's the West Bank Barrier in Israel. You really want to get into that?
What if some political genius decided to run a wall through your property (yanno, that uncomfortable thing known as eminent domain) that kept you from getting to your job?
If you apply General Expedient Political Stupidity to the details of your own life, I think you'd consider these issues differently.
That isn't true. Until the Berlin Wall was erected, so many East Germans fled to the West that East Germany's viability as a country was being called into question.
Before the Berlin Wall was built more than one million East Germans fled to the west.
After the Berlin Wall until it was torn down, more than 5,000 escaped to the west through, over and under the wall.
By my calculations that is a reduction of 99.5% give or take.
Is Dayton Lena Headey's baby daddy?
People are not numbers.
So you are not denying that building the Berlin Wall was incredibly effective in preventing West Germans from fleeing to the west?
If families want to avoid being separated then why don't they choose NOT to break into the United States?
No one's forcing them to come here.
