    Good.

Bomb them back into the Stone Age.

COD4 has renewed my conviction to kill Russians.

If American bases in Eastern Europe worry Russia, all I can say is that the Russians either should've (1) been a little kinder to their imperial subjects or (2) not lost the Cold War.

They're not getting that empire back and its really best if they hold no illusions in that regard.

    They ARE adults you dumbfuck.

You aren't living in Rodenberry's utopia and you never will. Balance of power is what has kept things from turning into another world war. Not your wishful thinking.

The arms race never ends, the USSR couldn't afford to compete anymore and had to drop out years ago. Don't see a reason to think they'll be any more competitive now.

There's no story here, just more garden variety hyperbole from a politician leaving office.

Whether he continues his reign behind the scenes is irrelevant. Vowing a new arms race with the US is a straight up nothingness, at best it could be considered political hyperbole.

Claim the US is starting a new arms race then use that as a justification for Russia fielding new weapons in response.

What says the US? It's a missile system not directed against Russia.

But really there's no need for the US to even be a part of the discussion.

This is but another politician using fear to justify action.

Curious that when a US politician utilizes this tactic he is rightfully ridiculed yet when Mr. Putin does the same he is embraced by more than a few Wordforge members.

Simply put, there is no new arms race.

Oh of course it is, its global power play politics, the 'missile shield' (which wont actualy work) is just a card on the table in the poker game of global politics.
The idea that its there to stop the middle east launching missiles at the US is laughable :) Especialy as its all based along the russian border

Who has "embraced" Putin? I think he's a disgrace.
That doesn't excuse deliberately the thread title.

Hey if the thread title is your complaint fine. I'm not bothered by the thread title.

Mr. Putin is claiming the US is starting a new arms race then using that opinion as a justification for Russia fielding new weapons in response.

There is no new arms race.

Well, the Americans are deploying weapons, and the Russians are responding with their own. Sounds like an arms race to me.

The only argument is over who started it.

Yeah we'll probably never know who the first human was who conceived of using a weapon.

Though I'll admit the beginning of 2001 seems an entirely plausible scenario.

Of course, so far, the only person involved with this foolishness is Mr. Putin.
