Yeah well it’s not like he’s the only YouTuber who says these things and I don’t watch his videos. You do realize that two people can have the same opinion on things, right?

Doomcock sounds like the name of a gay porno about a dude with a 10" horse dick

The Youtuber is the Rush Limbaugh of Trek discoursers, though. Like Dicky said, you're not missing much.

The only thing I watch on YouTube is uncensored Hell's Kitchen episodes. I don't even listen to podcasts. Hearing people pontificate on dumb popular culture shit is zzzzzzzz for me.

It is nothing like UPN because I still cannot watch America's greatest sitcom, The Hughleys, and yet I can somehow watch every fucking episode of Survivor.

You're absolutely correct. Plenty of other Nazis share his opinions, but I am surprised to learn your family members finally learned how to work YouTube.

Their email announcement I got about the change is a bit confusing. I'm presently on the $6/mo. plan and am able to stream live content from my local affiliate. When they make the switch, if I do nothing, it appears that I'll be able to stay on the same plan and still stream live content from the local station. If, however, I switch to the $5/mo plan, then I lose the ability to stream the local station, and I may, or may not, have the ability to stream it if I have the higher plan. I rarely watch the local station and can get it OTA, so that's not really a big deal to me.

I have the commercial free plan, and from I what I can tell nothing much will change, I have been watching a lot of the Smithsonian content lately.

Sometime overnight yesterday the CBS AA logo on my Fire sticks changed to Paramount+.

I've only skimmed what's on it, but it's far more than what CBS had.

If they bring back Cote de Pablo, I'll watch.

No need for anything fancy ... they can just have Ziva reading falafel recipes for 45 minutes or whatever.

Paramount Plus definitely has more content than CBS All Access, but it's the fucking same shitty interface and GUI.

    Definitely.

You click on something from the list to see if it's worth watching and when you go back, it doesn't take you back to where you were in the list.

Basically, yeah. They only have the latest season for most of CBS's shows. The Bold and the Beautiful and Survivor are so far the only exceptions to this. The former's fanbase are old ladies who can't work the iPhone without their grandkids and the latter is an aging dinosaur that has rewatch value only if you ship Rob and Amber. Boring.

I'm so sick of them bringing back Boston Rob. He was on the last two seasons of Survivor before the pandemic and I'm pretty sure it hasn't come back yet.

The episode "Lessons" was on tonight.
The one where Picard has a fling with the redhead from stellar cartography with the electric piano.
If Picard knocked her up, their kid would be 28 now.
That'd be a good surprise character to drop in, and should anything happen to Patrick Stewart, boom, Jean-Luc Junior can step in.
Hey, they made Maddox have way more significance, why not?

Picard: There's a man out there who I haven't seen in 15 years who's trying to kill me. You show me a son who'd be happy to help.

Ha, ha, ha, Tuck, that's a deep cut!

I'm sorry, doctor, that's an even deeper cut than you think. (Skip to about the 1:40 mark.)

Nah, the Borg cut his balls off.

That's why he was crying at the end of BOBW.

That's why he said "no more Picards" after his brother and nephew died in Generations.

That's why the Borg Queen tried seducing Data in First Contact.

Maaaaybe they grew back in Insurrection, like Geordi's eyes, and that's why he was willing to break the rules for his love interest. :chris:

Pretty sure they grew back in Insurrection while in orbit over Ba'Ku planet (can't find the name of the planet anywhere), just before he started doing the Salsa.

Reason #173467321476c32789777643t732v73117888732476789764376 Why Patrick Stewart shouldn't ever be allowed anywhere near the writers room or part of the writing process and why Picard turned out the way it did. For the :hurr: crowd that won't watch the video, Ira Steven Behr tells the story of how Captain's Holiday came about. The story is that ISB wanted to write a character study on Picard where he goes on vacation and goes to Risa, but in this version Risa is different and there's all of these different holodecks and one would be where Picard would face his greatest fear. His biggest fear would be being made Admiral and has to sit behind a desk pushing paper, yada, yada , yada. The script was pitched, but Gene didn't like it and shut it down because Gene thought Picard was like John Wayne and John Wayne isn't afraid of growing old or anything. So Gene changes Risa to the sex pleasure planet that we know and love. Then Patrick Stewart comes into the writers room some time later and had heard about the story they pitched and tells ISB that Picard needs to get laid and fight. Patrick Stewart shuts it down too and says he'd never do an episode like that. So that's what we got. It's not a bad episode, but it could have been better. We did get some character study later on and we know how Nemesis turned out. Now add Patrick Stewart to the writers room with hack writers like Michael Chabon and Kurtzman and you end up with the crap that was Star Trek: Picard. It truly explains a lot.

Oh and the lazy copy and paste fleet at the end, that was predicted 20 years ago.

This is why I call these people out because you can tell the level of care and effort people like RDM and ISB and the visual effects people put into TNG and DS9 vs what they do with NuTrek. They built a bunch miniatures with different types of ships for episodes like "Die is Cast" and "The Way of the Warrior" in DS9. You don't see that in NuTrek. You see it in The Mandalorian because the people working on that show care about what they're working on and respect the fans, it isn't just a paycheck for them. We saw the copy and paste fleet in The Rise of Skywalker as well. Why? Because Abrams is also a hack. You can clearly see a stark difference in quality.

What a great post. You've completely changed my mind on this.

Star Trek Picard is a giant piece of shit.

I shall now spend hours upon hours of my life spreading the gospel and making long rants on obscure internet message boards so that others may see the light.

They did that exact plot with Wesley in the first season, as one of his Academy tests.
Probably because Kirk had the same plotline in TMP.

Something something "Kurtzman has no original ideas" something something. :dayton:

I liked Shore Leave, insomuch as it's Picard getting to show off his skills beyond sitting patiently on the bridge while Riker and Data have all the adventures, and also because it's fun wish fulfillment for Picard the nerd who likes playing a private detective on the Holodeck.
