I dunno; presumably the biological components of a Borg age more or less normally. Seven was assimilated as a child and normal processes turned her into an adult.

Why? Any actress playing the Borg Queen is going to be caked in makeup, and Krige's BQ has already come back from the dead once after being played by a different actress for a bit.

    did she age naturally?
I always figured they had her in a maturation chamber like in BoBW.

Maturation chamber, like the baby from the Q episode and the kids from Voyager.

Jeri Ryan was a few years older than Seven was supposed to be, so that might explain the difference.

    Yep, this.
Borg Queen has closets full of spare bodies like the ghosts from Pac-Man.

So the producers of a show that's built around an 81 year old male actor playing a classic character again, promoting a major storyline involving the return of the 73 year old male actor playing a classic villain again, have decided that neither a 67 year old woman or a 63 year old woman can properly portray another classic villain they're previously played, even though the character would be covered in special effects no matter what?

Feels like a red flag to me.

Of course, the flipside to that argument is that if the actor is going be covered in so much makeup and prosthetics anyway, does it really matter who plays the character?

Other than minor characters like Icheb and Maddox who only show up briefly so they can be killed off, the big selling point of Picard is seeing your old favourites playing their beloved characters one more time. That's why they stuffed Brent Spiner into a TNG uniform instead of recasting Data or bringing in a body double and letting Spiner just do the voice. :clyde:

Susanna Thompson is still around, and she's the one that said "See you soon Harry," the best Borg Queen line ever.

They could even make her kiss another Dax for old times sake. :async:

    Oh dear.

That really missed the mark. Normally these trailer virtuosos can cobble a decent teaser out of anything, but this was just generic and action-y blah. Lot of punching & pow! + a car chase! Don’t leave Jean Luc out of the action. Does La Sirena have a dune buggy?

I have very little faith in the NuTrek’s writing department and was on tenterhooks with Q returning - at his best, he’s been one of my favourite Trek antagonists. Can’t say this trailer is very encouraging.

Seems I also got ahead of myself assuming The Borg Queen = The Borg (as in the actual Collective) returning. She appeared to be held in some lab in the dystopian alternate universe.

Yeah, that looks like a rehash of TVH and FC. Trailers are just that, but it's put a dampener on my excitement from the first one.

I don’t recall, what was Seven doing while VOY was stuck in 1996?

Hanging out on a Borg cube, probably. The episode where Voyager went to the 90s was in the show's third season, and they didn't encounter Seven until its fourth.

Okay, I wasn’t sure so it makes sense that Seven can’t drive.

Does it though? Out of the thousands of species and billions of individuals the Borg assimilated, not one of them knew how to drive a car (or something equivalent)?

Now if it's a stick shift, that would make sense. The Borg wouldn't assimilate a species with backwards ass technology like a stick shift.

Why would the Borg mess with non antigravity vehicles?

Picard sure started out great last season then got pretty much unwatchable by the end. About the time the lame ass martial arts expert Romulan showed up

Even a cameo by Captain Riker and Troi on the Titan couldn't save it

Now Picard is some sort of android, ok

And now oh look, Q! Hey even better, let's go time travelling back to 2021 because no one wanted to see the Federation post TNG/DS9/VOY era

James Kirk took a joyride in a Corvette, and the Borg still wanted to assimilate humans. There are clearly some non-antigravity vehicles that are better than others.
