Stomping on a "back the blue" sign? That's a hate crime.

Again, hurt feelings are not the punishable offense. There must be an underlying crime, and it is deemed worthy of additional punishment under certain circumstances. You clearly understand that there is no "agenda of making hurt feelings a punishable offense."

Well, cop killers more often than not get killed by cops, and the judges look the other way and whistle.
    So....technically it's "a harsher sentence".
But...they typically don't get brought in alive, much less into court.

Women are more likely to take a plea deal for a lesser sentence. and 17% of women vs 28% of men are incarcerated. But, I agree. If women commit crimes, they definitely should be doing the time.

Not in a straight line, honest presentation, no.

More likely the evil red hat makes someone "feel unsafe," giving them the excuse to start a fistfight which they then lose and portray themselves the victim of a "hate crime" in a heavily edited cell phone video.

Wait. I thought the person who starts a fight, wins. I mean, isn't that why you think Trayvon Martin initiated the fight with Zimmerman?

We've managed to avoid outlawing almost all bumper stickers after decades of outlawing shouting fire in a crowded theatre, so there's a slim chance you're being hysterical here.

Hey, remember a couple days ago when I was mad about cops depriving American citizens of the constitutional rights of peaceful assembly and peaceful protest, and you said that was okay because cops get to make judgement calls and and if the protesters disagree they should take the police department to court? Weird how your tune changed when we're talking about right-wing protesters and actual Nazis. :brood:

So now we are going into hate crimes laws may permit a conspiracy to allow people to commit crimes and then hide behind hate crime law as the reasons for their crime?

Am I understanding you correctly? Because if so, that's crazy. If not, why do you seem to be moving the goalpost in a crazy way?

    True.

But, again, the animated series are so much better than the live action movies. Anakin in the Clone Wars is so much more cooler than Anakin in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

Holy Fuck! Evil Bong in the real world. Without giving too much away the video guy at my old job took his two weeks vacation each year to go down to Nevada and work on cheesy ass horror movies. This is the first I’ve heard of one outside of him.

Dishonest distortion. If the cops saw some reason to order the Nazis to disperse, I would expect them to comply just as with anyone else. No other comparison relates to what I said there.

The problem is one of identity. I've made the same comment hundreds of times on this board over the years. When I was going through the process of becoming a police officer, my dad stressed one thing above everything else. Pick a hobby.

It sounds simple, but I've seen many, many officers become absorbed by their job. Their entire identity revolves around their job. Now, that can happen in any profession. I'm sure we all know someone who is a "workaholic." But, when policing, it's critical to have an identity outside of your job because, when policing becomes your identity, you stop trusting anyone that's not "wearing blue" and that includes family members and friends.

Are you suggesting that a possible problem with the systemic policing issues we have is a large number of officers don't have an outside hobby?
And, would it be a stretch for me to think that firearms and related hobbies aren't neccessarily good ones for officers to have?

Oh, Jesus, I got poking around in Charles Band's credits to see if he's still churning 'em out, and he was the first one out there with a corona based zombie film.
If Ed Wood were still alive, he'd be Charles Band.

Does not having outside interests cause the problem, or is it that the type of emotionally stunted person who becomes a cop in order to push people around is also likely to want the job to be their whole identity?

Who is @Bickendan ? Are you merely the guy that works at the Crusty Crab or are you an accomplished musician? Your vocation should be something you enjoy reasonably well and maybe, just maybe something that will make a difference. But, in many cases, it's your avocation that defines who you are.

I enjoy working in the Judicial branch. I hope I get to make a positive impact in many people's lives. It can be demanding. I'm on call 24/7. But, it doesn't define who I am as an individual. I don't have a Lady Justice sticker on my truck. I don't introduce myself as Judge Blues. When I'm not on the bench, I'd rather just be Elwood.

I'm a husband, a dad, and a preacher. That's my avocation. That's how I want to be remembered. That's where I want to excel. That's what defines me.

    Yes.

And then threw the cops under the bus when a handful of them actually tried to do their jobs on January 6th.

Yup. If active and unrepentant pedophiles or serial killers had their own recognized symbol and started started wearing it to identify themselves, it'd be open season on them too.

It's a disturbing lesson when you grow up and find out the bad guys look like everyone else and don't politely identify themselves with badges like Cobra or the Deceptions. But Nazis actually do, so let's take them at their word.
