And I think it's gonna be a long long time
'Till touch down brings me round again to find
I've fucked up the US economy

So, Trump was tweeting about hoping for a REAL trade deal with China, but remember, if not...

Since he tweeted that, the Dow has dropped 765 points, particularly tech markets but all are headed South.

    WINNING!!! SO!!! HARD!!!

It seems like he actually believes China is paying the tariffs.

Negative Nancy doesn't care when market goes up. Hmm.

Got any US equities, or just like to kibitz by tearing down?

Volatility traders love this shit. And Trump continues to give America civics lessons, making us learn about things we preferred never to know much about. Ouch.

^Market losers are collateral damage. And collateral beneficiaries are e.g. all of us more aware of China's malpractices, & the people who've learned that Europe adds 15% vat tax to US cars sold in EU but exempts their own cars because of vat credits awarded to local producers. Anyway, people shouldn't be trading in and out of market that often, and on Nov 8, 2016 the DOW closed at 18,332 - yesterday the DOW closed at 25000.

Trump's target audience isn't his base, it's China. Just more of his philosophy of negotiation. Probably flawed, since China is wily, but jury is still out.

Are you sure the string-puller you're thinking of isn't Chaney?

China is scratching their head. There are other suppliers of soybeans. Not so much for iPhones, despite foxconn's efforts in Wisconsin. They will end up teaching Trump a lesson in inscrutable deals.

US consumers will pay more for products produced in China; China is not paying our tariffs.

VAT isn't an issue for us selling our cars in Europe; they don't want F150s or Impalas. US made cars don't have a market outside of the US (except possibly Buicks in China, what's up with that?). Europe don't buy chevies. They buy opels, vauxhalls etc.. Ford's European lineup is very different from here and the cars are made there. Chrysler is the only US manufacturer that sells some US market cars in Europe, but even those come with diesels for the local market.

I think Trump has handlers for some things but most of the time he's just a loose cannon. W was smart enough to keep his mouth shut.

To be fair, on the tech side, the gaming industry is currently shooting itself in the foot. EA for being twats, Activision-Blizzard for being out of touch with its players and the Diablo Immortal farce at Blizzcon, and Bethesda for the double Fallout 76 debacle.

They'll do what they always do.
    1.) Ruin the economy.
    2.) Blame Democrats.
3.) Fix what they broke on purpose a little bit, and go "look at how I fixed the economy the Democrats broke!! :alpha:".
4.) Republican base = :hail: :happytears:
    5. ) Rinse, repeat.

    I am tariff man
    Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
    Can he walk at all
Only when he hits little golf balls.
    Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
    If he were not there
    Why would we even care?
    He was voted in
With the help of Russian friends.
    Where he traveled much
    For the worship of dumbfucks

    Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
    Planning his vengeance
    That he will soon unfold
    Now the time is here
For tariff man to spread fear
    Vengeance from the grave
Kills the ones he said he'd save

    Nobody wants him
    They just turn their heads
    Nobody likes him
    Constantly plans his revenge

    Many lies he says
Fills his lawyers full of dread
Spinning as fast as they can
    Tariff Man is lying again.

(maybe surprising how little of that needed to change)

He doesn't even give a shit. He's already admitted to his aides that he doesn't care that the national debt is going up because he won't be president when it gets really bad. So we can add caring about the economy to things that just don't matter to Republicans despite their claims. But the dumbasses who support him will still line up to suck his dick like it's cure to all ills. He could personally rape all their wives and children then piss in their face and they claim it never happened. Women in Lifetime movies have healthier relationships.

"He's already admitted to his aides that he doesn't care that the national debt is going up because he won't be president when it gets really bad. "

Really? He actually said this in those exact (or even nearly exact) words? Sources please

Reported by the Daily Beast, no idea as to trustworthiness of their source but, as others have pointed out, Trump loves debt as long as he's not ultimately on the hook for it...

Here's an article on it (google is your friend). It's attributed to an unnamed WH source:

The friction came to a head in early 2017 when senior officials offered Trump charts and graphics laying out the numbers and showing a “hockey stick” spike in the national debt in the not-too-distant future. In response, Trump noted that the data suggested the debt would reach a critical mass only after his possible second term in office.

“Yeah, but I won’t be here,” the president bluntly said, according to a source who was in the room when Trump made this comment during discussions on the debt.

He actually said on Fox & Friends in 2014that we NEEDED a big economic crash to make America Great Again (in other words, an opportunity for the billionaires to cash in again as they have before)

And we know Kudlow knows his shit. The last time he said this was....December, 2007

So he was so right, right? I mean the Great Recession didn't start until....(checks notes)...December 2007....Hm.
