The Designer of the World's Best Selling Car Has Died

    You've never heard of him, I'm sure. He showed promise as a teenager with his concepts submitted to the Fisher Body Craftsman Guild entries:

    But because he was drafted into the Korean War, it wouldn't be until 1979 that actually designed his first car. Apparently, it was worth the wait, as it quickly became the best-selling car on the market, out-selling Fords, Hondas, GMs, and the like.

    His name was Jim Mariol.
