I'm not a victim and never claimed to be. If I wanted to go down that road I'd play the black card. In fact, I've called out those on the right here who claim to be oppressed by the rules of the site.

All I'm saying is that the vast majority here have no interest in getting along, with @spot261 being a rare exception. He acts rationally and thus gets treated respectfully. You get what you give.

I'm certain that Spot's in fact correct, yet I can't help but think that the external persona you've adopted is one less useful for advancing your cause, whatever it may be.

The corruption in ukrain was Donald Trump trying to buy an investigation into hunter biden when he knew there was nothing there, and he admits he was blackmailing them not to find corruption because that would implicate him, but to have a bullshit investigation.

BTW it is actually specifically not his job or permitted that he hold up funds allocated by congress. That is clearly going against what he is allowed to do in his position and a crime. He is also not the leadership in ukraine and responsible for running their internal investigations. His job might be to have the FBI and US executive do an investigation because he is president of the US, but he is not the leader of the ukraine or part of their law enforcement.

Thanks for the outright lies. May Jesus send you to hell for your sins of bearing false witness.

Wah, people don't like you because you behave like an overwhelming asshat. Sorry to inform you but no one is obliged to be nice to you especially when you lie and insult people. Get a fucking helmet and some lotion for your red butthurt ass.

The Republican excuses are evaporating quickly.

    "Nothing he did was illegal!"

    The GAO disagrees.

"All he wanted was to stop corruption!"

But the documents that are now coming to light make it clear that the public announcement of an investigation was the most important think Trump and Giuliani wanted.

The lies just keep on going, and they are not really evaporating with their base, or the republican party. When they can barely get a couple of them to agree to call witnesses it just shows they have no shame or moral compass as a whole.

    "The GAO disagrees."

The GAO is filled with people who say the president is always breaking the law.

They said Obama broke it seven times.

    • The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and United States Secret Service (USSS) were found to have violated section 503 of the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, and the Antideficiency Act, in 2009 after the Secret Service reported that it had overspent on candidate protection in 2008 by $5,100,000, and used money from another program to cover the shortfall. DHS failed to notify Congress 15 days in advance of the “reprogramming.”
    • The Department of the Treasury was found to have violated the Antideficiency Act in 2014 when it used the voluntary services of four individuals. “Treasury did not appoint any of the individuals to federal employment, nor did any individual qualify as a student who may, under certain circumstances, perform voluntary service,” the GAO found, adding that there was no emergency that might have justified using the individuals to perform several months of work without receiving pay.
    • The Department of Defense was found to have violated the Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2014 and the Antideficiency Act in the infamous Bowe Bergdahl swap, when President Barack Obama traded five high-level Taliban detainees for a U.S. Army deserter. The administration transferred the five Taliban from Guantanamo Bay without notifying relevant congressional committees 30 days in advance, as required by law. Republicans complained; Democrats were silent.
    • The Department of Housing and Urban Development was found to have violated the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, and the Antideficiency Act in 2014 when the deputy secretary of the department sent an email to “friends and colleagues” asking them to lobby the Senate in favor of a bill appropriating money to the department, and against amendments offered by Republican Senators.
    • The Environmental Protection Agency was found to have violated “publicity or propaganda and anti-lobbying provisions” in the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act and the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act in 2015 by using some of the department’s social media accounts in rule-making for the “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) regulations (which have since been repealed under the Trump administration).
    • Two officials in the Department of Housing and Urban Development were found in 2016 to have violated Section 713 of the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act by attempting to prevent a regional director within the agency from being interviewed by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. (Notably, the GAO reversed its earlier decision that the department’s general counsel had not violated the law once it was presented with more evidence.)
    • The Federal Maritime Commission was found to have violated Section 711 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, as well as the Antideficiency Act, in 2016 when it failed to notify the relevant Senate and House committees that it had spent more than $5,000 to furnish and redecorate the office of its former director in 2010. (The total amount spent was $12,084 over three years, as noted by the GAO in a footnote reference to an inspector general’s report on the excessive expenditures.)

And that's just Obama. You can google up past presidents and find the GAO saying they broke the law.

No, that is not "just Obama". 5 of 7 of your examples do not involve him in any way. The other two are clerical mistakes not committed by the President, though arguably in his responsibility. For which your point is... what? Every President should be allowed to break the law? And if so, Obama's delay in reporting a tiny budget change gives Trump dispensation to blackmail a foreign country into politically assassinating Trump's opponents by illegally withholding funds needed for American security?

Obama is not president anymore. Just because one person gets away with a crime does not mean we never prosecute it again. There would be no crimes if that were the case.

    That's good.

So if a Dem takes 2020 and the first time the GAO says the Dem president broke the law we know you'll be first in line to demand they be prosecuted.

You make it seem like I would not love to see all the corrupt people in washington get what they deserve. If there was evidence like what they have for trump on Obama then the justice department would be prosecuting him. There is no doubt in my mind if they could make a case on him that Barr would be doing it right now. Trump has all this evidence and should be prosecuted. I think GWB should be prosecuted also and I am sure they could find some financial crimes with Hillary, the DNC, and the Republicans too, but they are not president.

Oh, and I am one of the few who thinks Obama should face trial for the relentless bombings of innocents in "kinetic action" on foreign soil, but that should include Bush also.

Yup, it's surprising how people assume that everyone on the left worships Obama mindlessly. He was an inspirational figure in many ways and he commanded a lot of respect on the world stage. Still does for that matter.

But he wasn't the second Messiah and did a great deal which gets overlooked due to his charisma.

there are a lot of things which are wrong with Obama. However, none of them get corrected by going with the republicans. At least the dems are running bernie and warren. Sure the last go around with the republican clown car did have some token diversity, but they were all the same crap. Trump is just obvious, but the rest of the party pretty much does things like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. They are all trump when it comes down to serious business like the crimes he has committed. If this corruption went the other way I don't think we would see the same lock step bullshit from the left considering people like warren, bernie, and the AOC bunch are willing to do what is right over party allegiance. I really expected a lot more republicans to do the right thing and hold trump accountable for his crimes, but I was wrong when i thought they had standards.

If they did oust trump for a person who was not committing crimes I could actually respect that and would think highly of them for doing so. I would even consider them anti-corruption if they did that, and would consider voting for some of those honorable people, but none of them are showing that sort of moral or ethical decency.

I think it goes a bit deeper than that. I do not think trump is doing things that have not been done before. I just think he is not good at hiding what he does and he did not have the real cleanup people until he got elected and now he is abusing the heck out of the process. Trump did not come in to drain the swamp, he came in to flood it.

I look forward to reading the Trump administration’s report on corruption. I’m sure it will be thoroughly researched, extensively cross-referenced, and free of factual and grammatical errors.

You should probably go read Ambassador Yovanovitch’s testimony to the House Intelligence Committee. It would clear up a lot of the confusion you have about the facts.
