was Quest implying that incumbents do not have an advantage? Maybe I'm misinterpreting this section of a comment:
"Presidents Taft, Hoover, Ford, Carter, and H.W. Bush failed to win reelection during the 20th century."

Statistically Trump is likely to win reelection. And when you factor in his lack of serious Democratic competition (so far anyway and time is getting short) that raises the odds even greater in his favor.

Well I watched most of the impeachment so far and the House Managers got their head handed to them today. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Trump supporter either.

The House Managers, this week, just droned on and on and on repeating themselves in between insulting the Senators to the point that the weak RINOS like Romney and Murkowski were offended.

And today the defense brought up all the things that the House didn't tell the Senators and asked the Senators to ask themselves why would the House Managers failed to bring that stuff up.

Monday you're going to see more of Trumps defense shred the House Managers.

Even CNN says things are not looking good for the House Managers.

I personally don't have a problem with them calling witnesses. I'm going to love seeing the defense tear through the House witnesses. There won't be just five minutes from each person and that's it.

Of course calling witnesses also makes life even more miserable for the Senators running for President.

I dunno, oldfella is all over the place, one minute, he tries to backpedal from nomming Trump's balls in 2016, then he noms his balls all over again to refill his cum tank, then he'll backpedal again.
And he'll nom Trump's balls next to a reflective surface, and thinks we don't see him.

I will say that TWO HOUR "opening statement" was holy shit grueling. No wonder they can't keep the kids in their seats all day!
BTW I have a strong feeling (just a feeling I admit) that the "more recordings of Trump" are a big handful of jack squat. If they were that high octane the Dems (or whomever is assisting the Dems) wouldn't have waited until now to bring it up - they would built their case around it since they have no "slam dunk" evidence so far.

Yeah I know. I laughed as I wrote it too but it's true. Objectively the last few days have been bad for the Democrats. If it had been good for them I would have said it.

If this were a criminal case it would be much stronger. The reason why it is so weak is because impeachment allows for jury tampering and threatening. It also allows for evidence not to be presented, and for people to vote to convict based on politics and not the law. If a juror were caught saying anything the republicans said they would be flushed as impartial.

You need to educate yourself if you think that the bullshit that goes on in impeachment would ever be allowed in a courtroom.

Irrelevant. The GOP already had their minds dictated to them before John Roberts even say down.

and the Democrats had their minds dictated to them by TDS! Side note I found this segment interesting. Talk about epic TLDR!

"Under the trial rules, the house managers had no speaking opportunity on the floor on Saturday, but they delivered a 28,578 page trial record to the secretary of the senate that served as the foundation of the case."

going back to 1980! When I was in the AF we had to do a monthly bomb loading qualification for speed, safety and accuracy. It was stressful and hectic as hell. One time our crew was really not having a good day, and the evaluators said we looked like monkeys trying to fuck a football. Needless to say we failed the load and had to do it again. :brood: Almost everything about that job sucked: the weather, the frenetic pace, wearing NBC gear for hours at a time, the insanely loud F-111 engines roaring.....glad those days are behind me.

    But this guy does:

Toobin on impeachment trial: President is winning here

    So I guess he's a conservative right?

    :dayton:

I don't rely on talking heads. I watched most of the Democrats case and the Republicans defense. I came to my own conclusion. The Democrats kept repeating their arguments as if saying it multiple times would make a difference. The Democrats insulted their audience to the point that the Senators were upset. The Republican defense easily dealt with the Democrats arguments and on Saturday scored a win by bringing up all the things that Democrats conveniently didn't tell the Senators and asking the Senators to ask themselves why the Democrats left those things out of their case.

We will see what happens starting Monday but the Democrats aren't looking good here. Republicans are probably going to already get Manchin's vote. They might get a few more Democrats to vote with them to acquit.

And Napolitano turned against Trump long ago and now has a hatred for him that borders on irrational. He actually makes CNN/MSNBC look fair and balanced when it come to Trump.

I'm still amazed that Nadler and Schiff had the balls to say what they did to the Senators.

They have to realize that Trump will be acquitted. But if they could peel off a few Republican votes that would be a major win for them politically. By insulting the Republicans it just makes it way more likely that the Republicans will all vote to acquit.

Apples to oranges. The Fox News expert is talking about a constitutional issue, Toobin is talking about the process.

The Fox News expert is notoriously wrong. Constantly.

    Napolitano has TDS in spades.

Trump could drop dead of a heart attack today and Napolitano would claim the heart attack was unconstitutional.

Who knows? That's up to the Senate and Bolton. Unless the House decides to have further hearings on the subject and they manage to compel Bolton to testify.
