Looks like a Youtuber that Dinner would link to, and be outraged when you don't watch.

I read on the news today that three potential attacks were thwarted recently! :whew: Glad the system (or somebody) is working for stopping these deadly attacks and is catching people like this.
I hope he gets punished to the fullest extent of the law.

it's almost like having a system in place to know who is stockpiling weapons and ammo is a way of preventing mass shootings.
Hell, it might even imply law enforcement can figure out how to tell actual threats from collectors/hobbyists utilizing that info.

cool! If the various systems we have start thwarting nut jobs intent on death & mayhem then maybe the anti-gun people will finally shut the fuck up - everybody wins!

the system working or anti-gunners shutting the fuck up? Hey if the system starts working as advertised, sane law abiding citizens can keep their guns, and the anti-gunners take the credit for the lower gun death rate (while at the same time bitching because the system doesn't work 100 percent of the time) everybody wins IMHO.

    I'm not anti-gun.
I'm not saying guns shouldn't exist.
I just disagree over what their intended use is.
You think they're for putting holes in imaginary boogeymen.
I think they're for inserting in your asshole.
And I mean the personal you, not the global you.

well Diacanu thank you for reading my mind! You are totally off-base but nice effort! I do not think they are for putting holes in imaginary boogeymen. I think they are most useful for hunting (yes many hunters use the AR-15 and similar weapons for hogs and deer for example) target shooting, and personal defense - pretty much in that order.

But hey, if you want to put a gun in my asshole you are more than welcome to try it - you're a spry young stud, so it should a cakewalk for you.

    Bullshit.

    Bullshit.

    Bullshit.

I grew up hunting. My father was president of our local Hunting Club. My Uncle would host hunts of ~20 to ~30 hunters on his farm every weekend. I never knew a SINGLE person that used .223 much less an AR or Mini 14 for hunting. Not a one. Why would you?

I use a Model 70 .270 for plot hunting*. Here is a comparison of the rounds.

.223 on the left, .270 on the right.

Why the FUCK would anyone use the .223? Because you are a sick fuck that likes wounding deer and having them run off to die slow painful deaths and not get any meat?

(Aside from the regular 30-50 feral hogs coming after your kid situations).

*Stalk hunting I use a Marlin .35 and dog driving my dad's old Humpback Browning 12 gauge.

See, courtesy of WF, @Storm, @Jeriko, et al. I have learned that there are three schools of gun ownership in this country:
    1. Those who use them for hunting anything with wings or four legs. (Among them would be my Upstate NY/Pennsylvania cousins who, before I joined WF, I believed to be the norm in America and, although I'll never shoot anything that isn't directly threatening someone I love, I had no problem with them.)
    2. Those who think All Guns Are Evil and Must Be Destroyed. (Dude, seriously, concentrate on climate change and women's rights and a whole slew of other things, because this one's dead in the water, especially the way you're honking on about it.)
    3. Those who believe THE SECOND AMENDMENT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN GOD AND I CAN HAVE WHATEVER WEAPON I WANT AND IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH ME, I'LL BE ON YOUR DOORSTEP WAITING FOR YOU!!!!!
Gun owners of America (I used to have this wrangle with @evenflow for years, but I suspect he's too busy trying to do damage control on what Der Drumpfenfuhrer's tariffs are doing to his soybean crops, just as @Ten Lubak is watching how Donnie Smallhands is affecting this year's salmon runs; they don't really notice until it hits them in the gut), if this clown is reelected, you may need to stop hiding in that that bunker and step up.

well Anc that is what you (Anc) choose to use! Google is your friend - plenty of people use other ammo and other types of guns. If you don't like that, go down to the gun stores and tell them what they should sell and what they shouldn't sell. Tell people who purchase and use .223 ammo that they are doing it wrong. Plenty of deer have been dropped in their tracks with a.223 round, and plenty of deer have ran off wounded from every round people can hunt with. Your experiences may differ from other people - imagine that!

Why would someone use .223 (a round it should be noted which was not developed for hunting, but is just the civilian version of the 5.56 NATO) for hunting over actual hunting rounds? Especially considering how under powered it is for even midsized game. It is literally a varmint round. Why would someone use a semi-auto instead of a bolt action? How many rifle hunters do you know? Of them how many use an AR?

Most of the people I know use ARs chambered for .308 to hunt hogs.

Yes, .308 is an actual useful game round.

Especially when being raided by 30-50 feral hogs.

Most of the country doesn’t have this problem though which is why most of the country would laugh at using an AR for game hunting.

Yeah, feral hogs are a real problem here and the only animal regularly hunted with AR-type weapons.

a few - but it is an option. Some people like the idea of having to really pick your shots carefully, like using black powder. If the .223 were not sufficient it wouldn't be legal to hunt deer with it. Some people hunt with hand guns too, where they really better get in close. You don't agree, complain to the various state DNR representatives. But a semiauto in .223 is a versatile weapon whether you agree or not.

Yep - the US is divided into two types of places.....those that have hogs, and those that will soon have hogs! They have them here where I hunt on Fort Gordon but only further out in the gun hunting areas. I hunt in the bow only areas (basically the garrison area near housing and office buildings and motor pools and whatnot) so hogs rarely venture there. But hog is far, far superior eating no doubt about it! My wife prefers venison so I'm the only one who eats hog.

    Yeah, fuck that noise.

I HATE the idea of wounding an animal and for it to run off and suffer. The suffering and the waste of meat both disgust me.

I’ve never had a deer leave the plot. Most drop where they stand.

Only once have I had to shoot twice. Even then the deer dropped where it stood with the first shot but it was trashing around so I used a second round to finish it off.

What if the deer was black and buying skittles? Then you would be scared for your life because black bambi buying skittles is some OG ganster thug superpredator shit. Or it could just be some dude cosplaying at an anime convention.
