WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a last-ditch attempt by former President Donald J. Trump to shield his financial records, issuing a brief, unsigned order requiring Mr. Trump’s accountants to turn over his tax and other records to prosecutors in New York.

The court’s order was a decisive defeat for Mr. Trump, who had gone to extraordinary lengths to keep his tax returns and related documents secret. There were no dissents noted.

The case concerned a subpoena to Mr. Trump’s accountants, Mazars USA, by the office of the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., a Democrat. The firm has said it will comply with the final ruling of the courts, meaning that the grand jury should receive the documents in short order.

Mr. Vance issued a three-word statement in response to the court’s order: “The work continues.”

I'm highly skeptical to the point of cynical about him ever seeing the inside of a cell.
I'd love for his "empire" to be torn down around his ears though.

I don't know, he's got some major liability on not only tax evasion, but tax fraud, per his former lawyer who did his taxes, who is now in full cooperation mode with multiple investigations.

I think there's a very real chance they get him. Because there isn't only this, there's a dozen other things being pursued. Hell, Cohen went to jail for election fraud - individual #1 was Trump.

Yeah, whatever NDA Melania had to sign in order to get good prenup terms can't possibly bind him once he's an adult.

Trump lashes out after Supreme Court decision on his financial records

There are from time what are called "per curiam" opinions that SCOTUS issues. At a guess, a few times a year as to full fledged opinions, and more frequently on procedural stuff where they reject or accept something in a sentence or two. ETA: The opinions are not necessarily unanimous, but it's a fairly safe bet that they are.

Usually per curiam opinions are not on cases with much sex appeal or newsworthiness. And usually people who are arguing causes that would generate a unanimous opinion quit while they are behind at the circuit level, and also, given that SCOTUS hears only about 100-200 cases a year, they just refuse to hear a lot of the slam dunk ones and let the court of appeal's decisions stand.

To paraphrase Archer, Trump calling anything about the investigations of him "fascism" is like Alanis Morrisette and O.Henry had a baby and called it this exact situation.
