    Because it's about Galaxy Quest!
Wonder if they'll use this song in the doc? (Corey needs the money, I'm sure.)

Honestly, they could sub David Warner for Alan Rickman and few would be the wiser. That's no dis against Rickman, but look at Warner

    And Rickman

(Not the best choice of pics, but I can't really find the good ones I've seen in the past.) They look similar and sound almost identical (they were also born fairly close to one another as well). For the longest time, I thought that Rickman was Warner. So they could do a sequel or a series, stick Warner in there, make some kind of gag about it ala Welshie on Futurama or the various Beckys on Rosanne and it'd work just fine.

David Warner was almost Freddy Krueger.
He even makeup tested for it.

That....would have been a different series.
Robert Englund did Freddy like an evil clown, Warner probably would have done him like the evil genius in "Time Bandits".
Or Jack The Ripper in "Time After Time".

    Yeah, here's the photo.
    Warner's Freddy had a trenchcoat.
Englund Freddy finally got the trenchcoat in part 7.

    Has anyone else seen this?

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11044122/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2

Available on Amazon Prime. An inside look at The Making of... with insights into how the film (A) might never have happened; (B) might have been very different from the film we saw*; and (C) was considered No Big Deal and expected to flop at the time of its release.

(IIRC, it was playing in exactly one theater in Manhattan at the time, and there were probably fewer than 20 people in the audience, but a friend and I were laughing loud enough for 20 more.)

Lots of insight into predictable Stupid Suit Tricks from the studio. Lots of love for Alan Rickman.

    *Spoiler alert:

Can't believe it's been 20 years since Galaxy Quest was released. Worth watching the documentary even if you haven't seen the original film in a while. And if you need good clean escapism in these troubled times, GQ is well worth a rewatch.

Galaxy Quest is a great film.

It manages to make fun of science fiction tropes and series, like Star Trek, without being insulting. That's probably why so many Star Trek fans love the movie.

Plus it helps that it actually has a well written story and good casting. The cast really came off as if they had been in a TV series earlier in life.

Watched it earlier today, really good documentary, and I really liked how it really is a Star Trek movie, and the movies does do a great job of making jabs at Star Trek fans without being disrespectful and at the same time capturing the spirit of Star Trek and its fans.

Galaxy Quest is in my second tier of Trek movies, with TUC and below the Genesis trilogy. It is a beautiful, magical thing.

Warner would've been a very different Freddy, but I think he would've been great. I can see him being a more chilling counterpoint to England's version.
