Star picked for Vulcan (AKA Spock's homeworld) has at least one planet orbiting it.

Look as the sky in the background, that could be the Super Earth, with Vulcan in tandem orbit, and at the near top left, two bright objects that could be the two companion stars.

Don't some of the novels suggest a huge companion planet near Vulcan known as "T'Kuht" or something like that.

It's apparently Delta Vega in the JJVerse, since OldSpock can watch the destruction of Vulcan from there just by looking up in the sky.

Damnit, I was going to post this earlier, but the board went down for a bit. I guess we’ll be getting a visit in 150 years give or take.

No, they're elongated, and anyway even when you can't see the whole of a planet, it's still a circle in the sky. Not sure about the leftmost light, but the other one would be covered by the planet for sure if it was further away.

IIRC Vulcan's sister planet is named T'Khut. Both Vulcan & T'Khut revolve around each other as both circle Vulcan's sun, 40 Eridani A. IIRC from both "SPOCK's WORLD" & the book "THE WORLDS OF THE FEDERATION".

Aside from that, this is a very interesting discovery. Life there would be extremely uncomfortable for humans, to say the least. At 8 to 9 times Earth's mass, the surface gravity on that planet would be painfully STRONG.
