Australia is on fire
We have spring like temperatures right now in Canada... like, May weather. Not simply unseasonably warm but the wrong fucking season.
and you want me to take an article titled "End the Climate Gravy Train" seriously?
From the "about us", section.
"CCD does not believe in consensus science".
"Consensus science", is a buzzword invented by right-wing propagandists.
Like "micro vs macro evolution", was made up by creationists.
That there's consensus only means multiple scientists have actually tested the claim, and the results of that testing agree.
It doesn't mean a fucking opinion poll.
Screaming that it is an opinion poll louder and louder, and with more mouths, won't make that true.
Which oddly enough, is actually the strawman deniers want to paint real science as.
They like popularity contests when THEY win them.
Fuck that site, and fuck you, you fucking fascist drunk.
Isn't the massive military-industrial gravy train the only reason you're employable?
The effects of anthropogenic climate change are becoming hard to ignore. You might want to look at the actual science instead of the Alex Jones talking points, there, @Marso.
Please change Marso's name to NeoDayton3 because he has won the matrix of dumbass.
Exactly what do people win for denying climate change?
A garfield monster. What the hell is going on there?
I know you're not stupid, @Marso
Can you let the rest of us know about this groundbreaking knowledge?
I don't need to look at the science to know that it's real. I live in hot, hurricane infested Florida and it's getting worse every year. We KNOW that it's real.
Are you sure? According to this thread, @Marso just now discovered the threat of radical Islam:
Ask the Koch brothers.
Wisdom =/= Intelligence
Clearly he doesn't have one; I know he can demonstrate the other.
Which is so weird, since he's always claimed to have learned everything he needed to know about Islam on 9/11. How did he not learn anything about radical islam that day?
And you're complaining about this?
I fucking am. Sure, it's raining like usual here in Portland, but it's also a solid 5-6° C warmer than it should be and I'm going around without a jacket.
It's usually like -20 degrees Celsius where @Spaceturkey lives this time of year
And that's what you get for living in Portland!
You know what goes good with gravy? Meat pies.
AUSSIE MEAT PIE
1 onion finely chopped
500g beef mince
1 cup water
2 beef stock cubes
1/4 cup tomato sauce
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch salt and pepper *to taste
3 tbs plain flour
1 sheet shortcrust pastry
1 sheet puff pastry
1 egg to glaze
Cook meat and onion until meat is well browned.
Add ¾ cup water, stock cubes, sauces and seasonings.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
Blend flour and the remaining water, add to meat, bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool.
Line a pie plate with the shortcrust pastry.
Spoon in the cooled meat mixture. Moisten edges of pastry with water.
Top with puff pastry, pressing down to seal the edges, trim and glaze with egg.
Bake at 230C for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 190C and bake for a futher 25 minutes until golden.
After I hit port in Australia in 2011, I discovered meat.pues and was very disappointed that we didn't keep these in American cuisine.
Why the dumbrep, @Federal Farmer ? Meat pies are delicious. Especially steak and mushroom ones
Or pork and mashed potato, or salmon with white biscuit gravy!
It never occurred to me to use regular pie crust on the bottom and puff pastry on top. I routinely make both, depending on whether I want to make a pie or a turn-over, but never thought to mix and match.
Because you're dumb.
It's the standard method for pies here, gives you a sturdy base to hold onto and contain filling, but a light crispy top.
