The whole thing is worth a read, but the key points are that you can't support what conservatives are doing in good faith if you believe in federalism (the notion that the states are granted certain powers that the federal government must respect/defer to and vice versa) and originalism (that the Constitution should be interpreted according to what the Founders would have thought about the subjects).
