This isn’t exactly a meme, but I don’t know where to put it. You want a Thunderdome comment section, check out this article about a Conservative Black Street Preacher with a PA system in Mobile. Racism v Conservatism v Christianity. Three beliefs enter...
That's one of the biggest myths perpetrated by Trek fandom. 1. They didn't actually kiss. Shatner himself has said so many times. You'll also note the camera angle intentionally changes so you don't see their lips touch. 2. Even if you agree with Nichols' version of events (they did, in fact, kiss) it definitely wasn't the first interracial kiss broadcast on American television. Lots of articles if you're willing to google. These two came up right away: https://fakehistoryhunter.net/2019/09/11/not-the-first-interracial-kiss-on-tv/ https://www.agonybooth.com/tvs-first-interracial-kiss-star-trek-27382 Sorry to be a party pooper, but Trek's history is rife with falsehoods and embellished tales.
That first article is really in depth, but they were equivocating in certain areas. It should have been lover's kiss, and it should have been black and white kissing. It took a while to get to an actual sexual kiss that occurred between a black and white person. They were clearly calling pecks on the cheek kissing for a while, and also trying to bring in other cross ethnic kissing in. That ST kiss always dis seem a little weird, but now I know they were trying to keep the lip connection blocked by their faces.
Rereading the meme, you're absolutely correct. Somehow, when I first read it earlier tonight, I read it as 'stage kiss', which would be 100% more accurate.
Still doesn't explain why he doesn't wear any pants. You'd think that itself would give him a section 8 and prevent him from serving in the navy
