Most cops I ever met always try to be some kind of Wyatt Earp bad ass and I just hate that attitude. I know we need cops, but I don't like the fact that many feel they can put their hands on you for questioning authority.
I complained to the magistrate on my court date. He told me there was nothing he could do, found me guilty of speeding despite the cop not even showing up, and ordered me to pay my fine plus court costs. I paid them the money. What could I do?
I can't help it if I'm smarter, better looking, more successful, and happier than you can ever be. Everyone has a boss. Period. That you can't grasp that is, as usual, your failing.
EXACTLY! Spend your time pushing around criminals instead of citizens and I wish you the best. Push around citizens like me and my uncle and I give less than a shit when one of you gets whacked.
They just fired the entire Narcotics Division across the river in Aiken SC. They were using the official vehicles to run around picking up women and taking them to bars and hotels while on duty! Personally, that's some rinky-dink minor shit IMO. They weren't taking bribes or selling drugs or any such activities. If that's the worst the cops in that town do, the citizens have nothing to bitch about. I don't see why firing was neccessary. A fine or suspension would have been plenty IMO.
Having been a newspaper reporter and editor, I got my share of "so and so's cops" did XXX to me calls/letters. And I checked them out — only once out of about a dozen or so of these claims was there anything to it, and that one time the cop lost his job over the incident, and the local PD made no attempt to cover it up — his watch commander immediately started an investigation after I called (the victim never called the cops about it, oddly). Virtually every other time, it was somebody pissed that they got pulled over for speeding. Are there bad cops? Yeah. And I know from experience the good cops hate their guts — because it makes the job more dangerous.
I can't speak for Ohio, but if that were here, I'd call flat out bullshit. In Alabama, the officer must, MUST appear at court or the charge gets tossed. In fact, barring a family emergency, it's an instant termination if the officer doesn't show up. Hence, the luckiest SOB on the planet is the one that's arrested by a guy that's gonna retire in a few weeks. The DA has to drop the charge 'cause the officer won't show up for court.
The boss of the mayor isn't the county commission, it's the citizns of the town. There are 5,000 bosses in this case and they meet every other year. There was no one to complain to after the magistrate told me to fuck off.
It was supposed to be a play on the COPS announcer... But it's sounding more and more accurate with each passing year.
If that's how they do shit in Ohio, then you'll never see me visiting that state. Doesn't mean it's normal in other places....it's not.
No. I hate cops because they are bullies who push around citizens instead of criminals and who know they won't be made to answer for it. Either it gets swept under the rug or the elected leaders ignore the problems. Sure, every now and then a "bad" cop gets thrown to the wolves to show us they care, but by and large, nothing happens to the cops.
Oh do shut the fuck up. What you think, no, your existence, is about equal to the feces I just flushed down the toilet.
