I hate this one. It's 3 am, and I'm on my way back to classes after a 2-week summer course in Alaska, and I'm driving the speed limit. I know this because at that point I always drove the speed limit. It was 55. All of a sudden there's this jackass tailgating me for a couple miles, and he must have pushed me as far as he wanted, because he turned his lights on. Must have wanted to know what I was doing, because he wouldn't tell me how far over I was. Claimed that that was the price for him letting me off. It's this "hey, let's screw with someone" mentality of some people that bugs me.
I have a similar story to y'all's - When I was in high school I was driving home really late, going the speed limit on the four-lane parkway. There were no other cars around until someone who must have had his high beams on came up and started tailgating me. Didn't know why; he could've passed me at any time. So after a couple miles or so I started slowing down, to about 35 in a 55, cause I had found that that was a pretty reliable way of getting someone off your tail. The guy finally passes me, shining a really bright light into my car as he was passing, and when he was finally in front of me (and my eyes readjusted) I saw it was a cop! What the hell was that all about?! Other than that I haven't had any issues with cops.
OK, maybe that makes more sense, but did he have to blind me? Part of the reason I decided to slow down was also because I just couldn't see.
