I'm not gonna watch your drag queen-tastic remake of The Wizard of Oz, no matter how much you shove it in my face every fucking time I even glance sideways at your channel or web site. I don't know who was promised a lifetime of free blowjobs to get that on the air, but everything you've shown in the previews positively reeks of poorly-executed, pretentious schlock with bad dialogue.

I'm on the NBC/Universal customer questionaire email, and I've gotten several surveys on Tin Man. Each time I've let them know that if I wanted to watch the Wizard of Oz, I'll watch the Wizard of Oz, not some lame reinterpretation.

The reviews I've read pretty much say that Tin Man is a steaming pile.

It just makes me sad the gorgeous Zooey Deschanel got conned into this thing.

Sad because now you have to watch it anyway even if it's going to otherwise suck?

Well, if it ends up sucking, it ends up sucking, but I'll give it a shot.

And look at it this way, it's not a remake of the movie "Wizard of Oz" at all - it, like that movie, is a production based on Baum's Oz books.

That said, what is it with science fiction and the title "Tin Man"? They had TNG and SG1 episodes with that name. Now this.

And oh, yeah, btw, how many Sci-fi miniseries HAVEN'T sucked? The only ones I can think of are the Peacekeeper Wars (of course) and Taken. That being said, I'm a big fantasy fan, so I'll end up watching this.

Ok, I'd do her, obviously. But she ain't "all that and a bag of chips". There's WAY hotter out there in Hollywood (and other places, too). Kinda looks lik a poor man's Mary Elizabeth Winstead to me.

Oh yeah, Dune. Forgot about that one. But I actually thought the first one was a snore fest. I actually liked the sequel (Children of Dune) a lot more and prefer the Lynch version for Dune.

Actually, their miniseries are about the one thing scifi gets right.

Dune and Children of Dune both rocked. Taken was amazing. The Peacekeeper Wars was a fantastic end to Farscape.

Didn't see the Lost Room, but that was supposedly pretty good and on my eventual watch list.

Hell, even Triangle was pretty good.

People forget that nuBSG started out as a scifi miniseries....

Personally, I'm looking forward to Tinman.

About the only one that was absolute dreck was Earthsea. Can't say I watched it form my own opinion though, but when the author tells you not to watch it, it's probably a safe bet!

^True. The few TVG articles I've read have been ill-researched fluff.

Personally I have for the most part given up on the Sci-fi channel. Dish Network doesn't yet carry it in HD and to me it is difficult to watch some of my favorite series such as Stargate Atlantis in standard definition. At this point, I watch Atlantis on my iPod video while I work out. I am able to watch the prior season of both Atlantis and BSG in HD on Universal HD.

Outside of that, I think it has been discussed before, I am just simply not happy overall with the sci fi channel. I think they move their series around far too much, it is difficult to track their series not to mention the plethora of commercials they tend to air during the regular broadcasts of series and specials.

Relying on TV Guide for insightful, intelligent reviews is like relying on the Weekly World News for news.

Speaking of which...somewhat off topic, I've always wanted to get a blowjob by a girl while she was eating ice cream. I think the sensation might be...interesting. Or maybe coffee AND ice cream... And if it was this Zooey Deschannel chick...:techman: :j:
