Trekbbs Bans You and... You Don't Know Why

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, it may be disabled over there (for some asinine reason). But:





With the exception of the custom infractions, that's a totally lock-stock, image of the built-in vB "infraction" (aka Warning) system.

Note the first box. If a mod can't tell what's going on based on the information in that first box, they're to stupid to operate a computer or exist on the internet at all, much less moderate a truly huge board.

Assuming it's not disabled over there (I see no such option in the AdminCP), you're technically correct, vB did it's thing when the data was plugged in. However, someone made the decision to issue the warning knowing it'd trigger a ban and leaving no comment (as this mod did) is a totally lame thing to do.

So, yeah, I call pussy.

The Automatic Ban box is missing from my display. Maybe the admins (supermoderators) can see it, but ordinary moderators can't. Now, if everyone knows how many points trigger a ban (and I'll admit that I don't) then I suppose that you're correct in assuming whoever issued the last warning would know that it would trigger a ban.

Sorry Elwood, it's a terrible thing for a TrekBBS mod to admit but I haven't issued very many warnings since we switched over to vBulletin (or in the last year for that matter). So I'm nowhere near as familiar with the way the system works now as I was with the old one.

Honestly, dude, why do you even bother with that place anymore? If there's anyone cool there who doesn't already post here, just invite them and be done with it.

I like Misc over there, or rather I did. I get to be nice to people there and have good discussion. Then, folks from tnz came and trolled me. I don't care, but damn it if the mods don't fuck things up. It's my falt when people troll me, apparently, so they issue warnings and ban me. It's pretty annoying.

Well... communication to the mod who did this has been sent. It was not aggressive, but I let him know that I thought the ban was simply because I talked about guns.

While the reason for your ban looks like complete and total bullshit, and I do agree that some people need to have some objectivity in their moderation, some of the negativity you get from the populace is well-earned. I see how you post here, calling anyone you disagree with a "whore" and to fuck themselves with wooden spoons and all sorts of shit.

This is no excuse for people to make it their mission to disrupt a perfectly fine thread with their own grudge wank (I've had a ring-side seat to way too much of that when I posted there with ENT) or making up shit to get rid of you, but the reason you get so much hate isn't because you enjoy showing off your guns or have different opinions.
