You can despise me to your heart's content. Doesn't bother me in the least. Why? I'm right and you're not. Someone has to be.

You're charge that I make life difficult for others is just plain silly. Live life like a normal person and you'll have no problems.

And who am I cozying up to, by the way?

No offense but I find that hilarious.
Couldn't they have just found two gay guys to go with as a foursome?
Then they could pair off as they saw fit once they were in the door. But why does the one have to wear a tux? The whole thing is just ridiculous. There are bigger problems out there....like Heidi dumping Spencer as her manager and using a pyschic. Where's the outrage on that???

Glad you're entertained. However, it's the truth. I'm conservative on some issues, liberal on others.

I'm not talking about an entire religion, and that has nothing to do with this guy.

Oh, I don't think most of his views come from Christianity either. No Christian who followed the basic tenets of the faith would behave like he does. What he does do, however, is smear the name of Christianity. I take people on a case by case basis, but that's often not the case for most people. Some may see TLS and think that if he represents Christianity then they want no part of it, and that does damage to those who practice the faith and aren't anything like him.

He was like this at TrekBBS, too, when he was a member, although I do think he's mostly fake, and yes, he was that way there, as well, when it came to threads about homosexuality. So this schtick of his is nothing new. He's just bringing it to your shores now.

The senior prom may appear trivial when you’re decades out of high school, but it’s a firmly established tradition that puts a button on twelve years of social life. Students and their families put a lot of time, money, and thought into the event. It’s important.

That being said, it shouldn't be too much of an issue for the student government and their parents to organize a private prom. The school board's hands are tied, living in the middle of redneck country, and there's not much else they could have done other than invite more grief to the community.

Yeah, pretty obese. See right side.

"Fat dyke ruined our prom." I'm sure she's everyone's favorite in the hallways and locker rooms.

No, it was very obviously pointless and trivial back then, too.

Important to the warped priorities of American culture. Not "important" in any meaningful sense of the word.

Your morals involve making those different from you out to be lesser people, taking away their rights and not equally applying laws - all in perhaps the most free society the world has ever seen. Sorry cupcake, you're the very definition of a degenerate and would probably be better suited living in Saudi Arabia as those are the people you identify with most. Well done.

Oooh. They should make a movie of this. Kevin Bacon can play the fat lesbian. Or maybe the evil principal. He's getting awful old.

My high school self made no effort to participate in things like that. Outside of actual classes, all I really did with my time is make money, spend it on gas/food/booze, lift weights, and make my half-assed attempts at learning eastern martial arts.

    Ah.

I don't begrudge that particular jab. I was no more a ladies man in high school than I am now. I did have several cute female friends at the time, and one or two of them might have taken pity on me and gone with me if I'd asked, but I honestly didn't want to put on a fucking tuxedo and waste a perfectly good evening dancing to shitty music.

What about them? Some of them have parlayed cross-dressing into very lucrative careers. How does that hurt you?

I have a Donna Karan tuxedo jacket in my closet (yeah, I went there). It's in a women's size, but it buttons either way (yeah, I went there, too). Doesn't make me gay or bi, but it does earn me a lot of compliments when I wear it.

You're as weird as apostle on this topic. :bailey:

Did you attend HS in America??

Shallowness??? Stupidity??? Come on. That's a bit harsh.

You don't really get what it means when they say it 'ruins the senior year'. You take it too literal. You think the prom is nothing.

They have senior prom. Senior ski trips. Senior amusement park trip. They have senior varsity for teams. Their is the Senior Play. Fughedaboudit!!!

If those things occur at a HS, the kids look forward to it. They want it to happen for them like they heard about in years pasts.

My daughter was part of the Drama Club at her HS. In her senior year they cancelled the Drama activities. Her senior year was 'ruined'. She moved on. She went to college.

    Dude. Don't overhype it. :garamet:

No it isn't. Not in the slightest.

It is fucking nothing. It's 'nothing' on parade in expensive clothing. It is a celebration of hollow materialistic vanity and conformist rituals. Depriving them of it would probably be doing them a favor.

I've read some responses and I would like to say that I don't endorse the promotion of cross-dressing and dragqueens. I would not want any kid of mind to look up to dragqueens or cross-dresser. Sorry. So what if one or two are bigtime.

This is only a problem if you think your "endorsement" is required for anyone else to go about their business.

Here is the thing about this. Proms have always had a dress code. Somehow because these two girls are queer they think the code does not and should not apply to them. The dress code should apply to everyone.

Well, that is the issue. They both show up stag in dresses and what could they say? They are ones who chose to publicize their sexuality, not the school system.

Do not ask what High School I went too, but we had two "final" dances. The Military Ball and the Prom.

My girlfriend and I ditched the Prom. We put on our "Sunday Best" went out to the nicest restaurant within 100 air miles of our location, followed by dancing, and some...special time.

We were going to do the same for the Military Ball, but since I was Brigade S-3 my senior year, it was made abundantly clear by my immediate supervisor, a retired Army Colonel, that I must attend as I was to give out most of the awards with the Brigade CO and XO. :garamet:
