Which, if anything, means the crime should carry a more severe penalty. Dogs are more valuable than people, as far as I'm concerned. I'll be saving my dogs before the neighbor kids on zombie day. Bet your ass on that.

I fucking hate that society gives this piece of shit a pass on it because he's a millionaire NFL player. Fuck the goddamned NFL for looking the other way, and FUCK the kind of low-life, piece of shit fucking scumbag who thinks raising dogs to be vicious and making them fight to the death makes him a badass.

You think almost two years in jail and the forfeiture of (guessing here) $20 million+ on the low end (salary and endorsements) is a pass? And he still has a huge portion of the population that would be happy as clams to see Carlson here made happy.

Those are pretty serious knocks for killing any animal or group of animals in my mind, especially when there are far worse criminals who get by with far fewer conseqeunces.

I can believe it when he's said he's learned his lesson.

I thought "Could anyone say something stupider than what Tucker was quoted as saying in the opening post?"

    Then, I read posts 5 and 8.

First of all, Tucker is fucking rubber room bonkers.

Vick did his time and got punished. One could argue whether he got enough of a punishment, but I'm guessing his time is not out of line with other people charged similarly. Should his profession dictate a more severe punishment? Maybe.

Interesting your and UA's definition of "walks" here. As a first offender, Vick was not only bankrupted but forced to pay back several million to the Falcons (I was all for that because I'm an Atlanta fan after all) but the point here is the punishment. Whatever happened to liberal compassion?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not defending what he did but he did pay a very serious penalty for his actions. And, by all accounts, he's showing that he learned his lesson and he's trying to make up for it.

Would you like to have your life completely and permanently wrecked with no hope of ever being able to fix it for something stupid you did in your mid twenties?

Read the Wiki article. Vick did get a more serious punishment from the NFL than did most first-time offenders.

Bankrupted? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. :jayzus:

I'd rather the consequences for that kind of shit be so unbearably fucking brutal that the offenders never recover, personally.

First, I don't consider a monetary exchange "punishment" for this kind of behavior. Second, killing animals is a sign that something is wrong with a person's psyche - all the serial killers in recent history are known to have killed animals.

As for liberal compassion - I'm a supporter of animal protection laws and agencies. If this guy got two years in prison, I'd say that's too lenient.

So if he kills his own dogs on his own property, he should get the death penalty.

But if he's a cop, killing someone else's dog, on their property he gets a free pass from you. :marathon:

Yeah, let's pretend there's no difference between defending yourself against a perceived threat, and making animals fight to the death for your amusement.

Go fuck yourself. All y'all. Just fucking blow me.

While it doesn't surprise me that UA likes his rat-dogs better than most people...honestly, does that surprise ANYONE around here?...his denial of Vick's punishment appears to be on par with the general Islamic population's denials of the 9/11 attacks, when told about it in the days following 9/11. And that DOES surprise me. :jayzus:

Look, I'm more of a cat person, but I generally don't mind dogs. Might even own one some day...the Mrs. is pushing for it. But that doesn't change the fact that dogs are still animals...lower on the food chain...less important.. than human beings!!!

That doesn't mean what Vick did was right. It certainly wasn't. But he was punished. He lost tons of $$ in salary, bonuses, and endorsements. He had houses, cars, etc... seized for payment of debts/fines, etc.... He spent, IIRC, 18 months in prison, for fucks sake!!!

Ya don't have to like Vick, but calling for harsher penalties for killing dogs than one would get for killing human beings? :wtf: That's just fucking ludicrous!!! What's next, ya gonna throw my ass in jail for years if a mutt gets loose, runs in front of my car, and I can't stop in time? :dayton:

Vick served his time and was punished extremely harshly for what he did, by both the people of the United States and the NFL. He has the same right to feed his family and pursue happiness that any other convicted felon does. Saying he should be "executed" is gross ignorance and melodramatic hysteria of the highest order.

The dude did his time.

If he was an accountant or worked on a road crew, I doubt you'd have a problem with him getting a job once he was out of prison, would you? So what's different?

You can take that and blow it directly out of your ass. Sure, he was punished. I'm sure the prick even thinks it was severe. But I'm not satisfied. I fucking despise people who abuse dogs.

Just don't test that one out with me and my dog, I guess.

Boo fucking hoo. He'll make that back in a couple of years, and his piece of shit thug buddies probably glorify him for the prison time.

    :dayton:
Show me where I said I'd give human beings a pass for killing each other.

I wouldn't let those people out of prison, either.

Ah, so you reject the Christian Moral foundation of this country, but you want secular judges to judge a man's heart?!

That is, after all, the only way to gauge "intent."

running dog fights is sick beahvior imo.

but how is that any different than hunting animals for sport or shooting wolves from your helicopter or sending millions of cows, chickens, and pigs to the grinder every year?

If your not gonna punish the one, how can you support punishing the other?
