All this talk of Nova's gender got me thinking....if you were the opposite gender, what name would you like? For myself, I think I'd definitely go with a video game name, such as Rikku or Tifa. Barring that, I've always liked Violet, Myst, or Florica. If I had a daughter, I'd want to name her Mai Tai, Jinger, Dasha, or Rinn.
Hmm. If I named myself, probably Sarah. My parents? Probably a feminine form of my name, so Christine, Danielle or possibly Erika. I'd want Sarah, Rachel or Iyhara for a daughter's name though.
there's two different thoughts here now - one involves what's practical and the other is what would be awesome. Put another way, the name I picked in my late 40's needed to be the sort of name 40 year old women have. It would have been goofy to have chosen Shyann or Tiffany or some soap opera (or anime) cleverness. On the other hand, if I woke up in the morning as a hot 20 year old girl, THEN the possibilities are endless.
Something that can is generally not spelled fifteen different ways, as is sadly often the case. So that said: Kim Betty Lana
I imagine it'd be the same as the list of names I might give a daughter. I've always liked Rachel, Rebecca, Laura and Julia. Sarah's a nice name too, although given how many Sarahs I know in my age group, it might seem outdated by the time the next generation comes around.
If I had been a girl, the choice of my name would not have been up to me but to my parents. My guess is that it most likely would have been the name of my next youngest sister. (My older sister's name was the first one they were going to use, since it was going to be my father's name if he had been a girl, but it was already used. I don't know if the later names were as decided as that one was, though, and it's too late to ask them, so I'm just guessing that they might have given me the same name they gave to my next sister, if I had been the next girl in the family.) That name would have suited me just fine. I like it very much. (Though that's probably due to the fact that I like my sister. My wife dislikes the same name, because of someone by that name whom she disliked very much.)
My nickname would be something like "bubbles", or "cuddles", and I'd run around hitting guys with a brick in my purse.
Khym Beti / Bettee Llahnnah Stop right there. No one is usurping my nickname. I've always like the name Ricky. But also Danny and Jimmy.
Possible, but not likely. 99 percent of the time these are not spelled this way. Well, at least not among us old people.
TheBurgerKing is more a title than a name, but for you to pronounce my true name, I'd have to cut out your tongue
My mother-in-law has one of these names. I won't say which, she might get upset with me, and I refuse to fight outside my weight class.
It is actually, and why i choose it for a middle name. The sweet thing about it is the number of different ways you can shorten it- Eliza Liz Liza Lizzie Lisbeth Beth
