Grow the fuck up. Going out of your way hoping to get someone in trouble at work is a dick move, regardless of whether it's in the rules or not.
We've been over this a million times on this forum. If you browse in the Red Room with signatures and avatars on at work, you're being stupid and deserve whatever punishment you get.
That is not the issue here. UA didn't appreciate the "Gay Sex" title in Black Dove's thread, and said so. So Timmy is deliberately trying to cause him trouble at work by starting a thread with that in the title, making it as big and obvious as possible. (UA is specifically allowed to surf on the 'net at work, when he is not needed with the work he does.) Turning off avs and sigs will make no difference. This thread shows that Timmy can be just about as much of a troll as quite a number of others here. These are not people who are here to discuss, but just wanting to cause trouble.
So the moment the thread pops up, quit bitching and put him on ignore. Edit: Oh god that doesn't work TIMMY YOU ASSHOLE WHAT THE FUCK
Yeah, while the end results might be the same either way, intent is important for considering how react to the individual.
If UA got a nice phone, he could browse WF from there and not worry about work looking at it /cheaptroll
Doesn't even need to be a phone, something like an iPad could work nicely while he's tucked away in his office!
Alternatively, he might consider actually *working* at work, since he's a principal proponent of the dictum that "an employer can set whatever rules he wants."
As as already been pointed out not all jobs require working non-stop. There is down time now and then.
It's funny I see people fussing over the title "Gay Sex" but you all didn't work yourself into a lather over titles with the n-word in it.
True. But it's the second part that's key. UA's always among the first to lecture us about how "an employer can do whatever he fucking well pleases!!11"...until it affects his entertainment quotient.
Fuck UA's employers. If they didn't want him to be going to sites that discuss gay sex, they'd put stronger filters on their internet access.
