Disagree. Taste is highly subjective, particularly when it comes from people who don't realize AbramsTrek is vastly superior to all other forms.

Also, common sense is absent from people with underdeveloped minds. Since the underdeveloped hate AbramsTrek, they also lack common sense.

    Quite simply, really.

Why are there no Muslims in space?

On that vein, why no monkeys in space?

    Silent racism.

The elephant in the room of Star Trek.

Of course, all the elephants were killed in the Third World War......

Well, there was that shitty TNG episode where half the crew turned into monkeys...

One of the low points of the franchise. And written by Brannon Braga, unsurprisingly.

And there was the Mugato from TOS. That was sort of like a monkey... except with a horn.

    Is Vulcan poo green?

Do people still fart in the 24th century?

Do they still watch reruns of Green Acres and Hogan's Heroes?

I've read a lot of explanations of the UT, this is the first that made any sense.

King Abdullah II of Jordan was an extra on an episode of Star Trek Voyager back when he was a prince.

One of the things that TOS did better, where all the crew actually came from around the world.

On the other hand, except for Spock they were all from Earth.

TNG had only three main cast members who were from Earth outright (Picard, Riker and LaForge, from three continents), plus two from colony worlds (Crusher, Yar), a non-earth android and two non-humans.

DS9's three humans were all from Earth, but the humans were a minority. (No idea what part of Earth Bashir was from, but there are at least two continents represented by Sisko and O'Brien, albeit both western ones.)

At any rate, the humans on those two had about as much geographical diversity as possible; there just weren't as many parts of Earth represented because there were fewer human characters in the first place.

Voyager fell down on that front, with all of the Earthborn characters being American (at least as far as I can tell).

Why couldn't Trek have more cool space battles?

And why didn't the replicators ever make waffles? There should be waffles in space!

With a name like Singh? Dubious. More likely Pakistani and Muslim, unless there's a specific reference in the episode, and I haven't seen it in a while...

    :nono:

    That's stereotyping.

    Besides:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singh

Not one mention of Urdu, Pakistan, or Islam/Muslim in the whole article.

Anecdotally, every "Singh" I have ever known was a Sikh from India, however Mr. Singh from TOS wore no headwear of any sort, so less likely he's a Sikh.

Given that this entire thread was nothing but an idiotic trolling effort on the part of the thread starter, what did you expect.
