It'll be a ginger clone of Tom Baker! Before he acts a single scene, people will be saying that he was born to play the Doctor.
If this dude is to be shoehorned in between McGann and Eccleston's times, doesn't that mean that 9, 10, and 11 are actually 10, 11, and 12? Or, if this isn't the old guy from the cliffhanger, would it mean that the next guy will be #13? WRONG FONT!!! I'm guessing old guy at the grave doesn't "count".
This thread is about the guy who is to replace Matt Smith. John Hurt is not the guy replacing Matt Smith. If John Hurt was the real "Ninth Doctor", then Matt Smith is really #12 and this dude is going to be #13. If Matt Smith is still somehow the real #11, then this dude will be #12.
Ugh. No. He would have been perfect before House, now he'd just be playing House with his real accent. Pass. Ugh. No. We've already had two female Doctors. They were named Romana and River Song. That said, Moffat has laid the groundwork to show that Time Lords can switch genders and skin colours when they regenerate, so it's not out of the question that he might go some something unexpected.
One of River Song's incarnation was black before she regenerated into the Alex Kingston version and a Time Lord mentioned in the episode "The Doctor's Wife" is said to have had both male and female incarnations.
Hoping for Capaldi, along with a parody scene of him going all Malcom Tucker at Davros... Knowing how a friend would react, I'd be giggling if they picked a black, disabled lesbian just to see what happens when he detonates in fury.
I would be surprised if it was Capaldi, seeing as how he already had a role on BBC's Torchwood as John Frobisher.
^ Colin Baker was on the show before being cast as the Doctor and David Tennant had been in various audios.
Absolutely overjoyed. Well done SM, you have redeemed yourself in droves. My first choice! Bravo! He's such a great actor. I am so pleased. Can't wait until Christmas.
I think Peter Capaldi's best acting was in 'children of earth', even though I love 'The thick of it'.
Precisely so. I'm suddenly excited about Doctor Who again! Also, Capaldi's filmography reads like a list of things I miraculously missed and have to go see as soon as I can.
Who the fuck is this guy? Never heard of him before, and don't like the look of him. NuWho is going to suck now.
