Peter Capaldi is the bookies favourite. Would be a great choice. Don't see it happening though.

If John Hurt was the real "Ninth Doctor", then Matt Smith is really #12 and this dude is going to be #13.

That said, Moffat has laid the groundwork to show that Time Lords can switch genders and skin colours when they regenerate, so it's not out of the question that he might go some something unexpected.

I'd like to see him play him as George from Blackadder.

One of River Song's incarnation was black before she regenerated into the Alex Kingston version and a Time Lord mentioned in the episode "The Doctor's Wife" is said to have had both male and female incarnations.

If the new Doctor isn't Idris Elba, I'll be doing this.

Knowing how a friend would react, I'd be giggling if they picked a black, disabled lesbian just to see what happens when he detonates in fury.

Whoever it is, rest assured he'll be in some pretty good episodes but mostly ones that suck.
