Well, good, you've already figured out that "cultural causes" don't pull triggers, but individuals do. You can retire now.
If mass shootings in America were to threaten to turn into a weekly or bi-weekly occurances, I wonder if it would cause pro-gun individuals to re-examine their position??
But...but...but.....guns are BANNED in Chicago!!! The city should be filled with puppy dogs and rainbows!
Five hundred murders were committed in Chicago in 2012. It's already a daily occurrence. What makes this special, that a couple dozen were killed at the same time?
So far, there have been no murders in this shooting. Only attempted murders. Let's hope it stays that way.
You mean give up my rights and in the end achieve nothing? Yeah fuck that. You want to solve mass shootings? Start with mental health. Want to solve 500 murders a year in Chicago? Start busting heads on the gangs. It's time to treat gangs like the mafia. Stop fucking with law abiding people.
Absolutely it would. Instead of thinking people ought to have the right to be armed, in order to protect themselves if they want to, they would start thinking that you would have to be insanely delusional not to be armed in order to protect yourself! And they would be right.
Examine them to what end? In the hopes of finding a way to gently encourage people to stop being murderous shitbags? Piss on that. If you can't see your way to acting civilized all by yourself, then you don't belong in civilization.
Linking back to a thread from the other week, the sheer volume of mass shootings can surely be considered another example of American Exceptionalism! Fuck yea!
Shit, you have a point there. I've got a whole closet full of guns. If I'm not careful, they may jump me in my sleep, drag me out the door, and force me to go shoot up a shopping mall. Go stand in the corner, dumbass.
Very good. Thats two mass shootings this week. Doesn't look as though the current approach is working very well, (whatever that may be). How far does it need to go before people think maybe its time to look at alternatives?? Thats all I'm saying. Now jump back in your closet with your guns.
It's always time to consider alternatives, but eroding the freedoms of innocent people is not on the table.
