of course you are... some of your biggest suck ups suddenly lost interest got too busy with real life when the board changed hands.
I imagine the last thing you want is for this place to expand, let alone continue, now that you aren't queen of the playground.

Exactly. Tamar actually has an interest in seeing this place fail. If it succeeds then it's there for all the world to see she wasn't as important to it's survival as she liked to pretend.

Wouldn't the parties paying for the site be those 'keeping it afloat'?

Shorthand but, yes, some of us dislike unnecessary drama.

Please don't bother explaining what you mean by that. Tamar will give you a cookie anyway.

other than cause shit by bending the rules for her friends, what did she do here for all that time?

I mean, it's always been Nick and a few other tech types keeping the lights on no matter who was paying the bills.

This conversation has become very sad and mean-spirited. Everyone engaged in it appears very small. How about we end it here?

Considering the person we are talking about is quite spiteful and often mean spirited, I think this conversation is very appropriate.

No, Packard is right. There are some accurate observations perhaps, but it doesn't need to become a pile on party of spite. Not everybody enjoyed having Tamar as an admin, but she dedicated a lot of time and effort. And much of the work is behind the scenes stuff that nobody notices or appreciates, like tracking down and killing spambots. I've had issues with Tamar off and on over the years, but for the record, she would still be an admin had she not resigned.

As long as she's been declawed as far as behind-the-scenes shenanigans are concerned, I'd be prepared to let her make a fresh start, despite the unfounded accusations she thought would disappear from the board but not the collective memory during the changeover. :bailey:

Sure you do, Tuan, sure you do.

Oh...and if you want a successful dual you don't talk in your own voice and only use it to take shots at people you don't like.

As for all the other crap....

I think most people know how much I love this place and most of the people in it.

Tuan qua Tuan didn't create any drama. So is it your contention that all duals innately create drama, or only mine?

The dual's purpose was twofold. One was to see if people would respond to the same words differently if the "OMFG, it's garamet!" factor were removed. And they did at first. Then you began your whispering campaign, which set the second goal in motion.

I wanted to see who you'd blab to first and then follow the grapevine to see who got told next. Imagine my surprise at who you chose. :jayzus:

Pretty poor pool of potential minions left for you here, huh? I thought Jamey not-too-busy-with-RL-to-lurk-all-day-every-day Whistler might at least ride to your defense, but no. Your boy will lurk until neg-reps are restored.

The quality of minions just ain't what it used to be, huh, Glinda? Time to rethink your game plan.

Yes, it is crap. And it wasn't even subtle. You used to be better at spreading disinformation. So, no, I don't expect you to back up your crazy accusations. Just try to think 'em through next time, eh? Or just be what you claim to be. It's a lot less labor-intensive.

You can shut the Tuan dual down, guys. My work is done here.

Actually, it was pretty obvious who "Tuan" was by about the fourth post.

Yeah, I should have put as much effort into it as I do in developing a character for my writing.

But, as I say, trying to put forward ideas without hitting the Archangel Factor was only part 1.

Part 2 was seeing how fast the backstage game of Telephone would spread and to whom.

    Mission Accomplished.

Sorry to disappoint you but I didn't say a word to anyone about Tuan until last night. I haven't talked to Peter in absolute ages. The only contact we've had lately is giving each other gifts on BeJeweled Blitz.

There was no "whisper campaign". Your paranoid delusions of how important you are is telling. I've also never had minions...people like or hate you all on their own and it has nothing to do with me.

No one had to tell anyone...Tuan not only had your voice, but used some of your language quirks. In fact, I tried to warn you of it in a thread it happened in...that you might as well wear a neon sign with your main account as write things the way you did there.

But as usual you will ignore everything and revel in your tinfoil hat. :jayzus:

Well you asked under your other name, so I'll go ahead and answer...yes, it's kept afloat by lots of people, IMO. The people who pay, the techies, and the people who do day to day stuff like kill spambots, name the smiley you want after you, etc.

As for the cookie.....your passive aggressive comments like that when you're pretending to have an adult conversation ultimately say more about you than me. I disagree with Tamar on LOTS of things. We're very different politically and spiritually, for example. I just don't see a reason to be hateful and can still see the value of the work she's put in over the years.

The people who keep it afloat are the posters who come here everyday and make threads, post discussion and share their lives.

But I appreciate the support and sentiments, MrsA. :mrsa:

I wasn't talking about what you say in public.

Which has nothing to do with what I said. Back in the day, he'd swoop in to defend your honor minutes after anyone questioned it. His favorite trick was leaving paragraph-long neg-reps so he couldn't be "harmed" even by neutered rep. Without rep comments, he's just been lurking. For the first week or so, he forgot to fix his privacy settings, and there he was all day every day. It was funny, actually.

As I say, it was interesting to see how the grapevine progressed. Call it a cautionary tale for new members.

Now, how far do you want to take this this time? Back to the innocent "I love - almost - everybody" Tamar, or a fresh start?

Agreed, and these are all valid functions of an administrator. It's the perception by some here that the place can't survive without drama - and if there's no drama, someone has to create some - that's questionable.
