Un-fucking-believable. Listen up silly fag, you don't solicit charitable donations without telling people the truth about what's going on. You don't ask for money under false pretenses. Are we now saying that the facts of the situation are not what was originally reported? Yet you're still advocating that folks open up their wallets even though you're not willing to be honest about what happened? Crazy wife deleting the original Facebook post talking about what allegedly happened at Wal-Mart is suddenly making more sense. What has happened to Shep? Was he in an accident at work or not? Did he break his neck or not? Or did he attempt suicide? What the fuck is going on with you dipshits?
You know now that you mention it... The leap to suicide was very...odd...considering no one was talking about that. Then there is the hyperdefensiveness if anything is questioned.
Nope. What's your reason for saying we shouldn't be trying to get money to Nova as quickly as possible? You have one, right?
I keep in contact with Nova outside of WF, so you know nothing. Perhaps you should step back and wait until you can get the whole picture, lest you look like an ignorant fool.
Some people, you can't help out. Yeah, it seems cold and all, but it is the truth. When the guy got burned out of his home I chipped in. Then it turns out he apparently blew a bunch of money on a shady electrician or something--and then didn't do what he needed to do to fix that. Then, oh by the way, he's a woman. Well at some point you've got to say "well good luck with that" and let them live their own life. I come from a family where they ignore problems until it is impossible to solve them and then come to you for help. So you bite your lip, roll up your sleeves and do what needs to be done to make the best of a bad situation--and they bitch at you for it. On occasion, my brother has actually asked me for advice. But when I give it to him he nods and smiles...and then goes and does whatever he was going to do in the first place. Nothing any of us can do is going to unfuck the mess that is Nova's life. Hell, I bet if you gave the guy a million dollars in 5 years he'd be in the same mess. Unless someone wants to adopt him and make him their dependent ward he's going to keep making bad decisions and getting into jams.
When Ancalagon is honest about what happened, then perhaps we can talk about helping Shep and his family. Why is Tuckerfan talking about suicide when this situation is supposedly about a workplace accident and a potential workman's comp case?
You have no interest in the truth, you're more interested in muddying the water. You've already indicated by your posts in this thread that you don't give a shit about Nova, so knock off the concerned act.
Why is Tuckerfan talking about suicide when this situation is supposedly about a workplace accident and a potential workman's comp case?
You don't think that a 41% rate of attempted suicide for transgendered individuals is, ya know, kind of high? If 41% of the people who bought a product wound up dead or severely injured from that product, would you say that folks really ought to be careful around said product, or would you think that it was "no big deal"?
Falling and breaking neck...suicide talk....common methods of suicide. Lots of secrecy. "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark."
You guys do you remember that Flashy is just playing a villain character, and that Archie is a fucking moron, right? Why are you wasting time and shitting up the thread by responding to their nonsense?
So this is how you answer uncomfortable questions? But do feel free to shovel money at whomever you please even though you are likely being lied to.
I know I can trust you with sensitive information, so if you don't believe Nova is actually in ICU I'll PM you her name and the hospital and you can call them up and ask to be connected to her room and be told she's still in ICU and then be connected to the waiting room.
Exactly. The point is, nothing we're going to do here is actually going to help things in the long run. Say we raise $10,000. I don't think there's a chance in hell of that happening, but say we do. What does that accomplish for someone in this situation? They pay off some bills? They get a slightly less shitty used car? What happens 6 months down the road when the next catastrophe happens?
I guess we let them wallow in their feel-good actions. Because I think in the end, that's what is really important to them...."They tried to help" Besides, no one likes being told they may be getting conned on any level. But they'll just call us trolls so. what can you do?
So lemme get this straight. Now it wasn't a workplace injury. It was an unsuccessful attempt at a stockroom hanging? Seriously. What the fuck did happen. Until it gets straight stop talking workers comp. because that doesn't cover suicide. V
So if I understand you correctly what you're saying is that if we help Nova and her family survive this ordeal she might be in trouble in another 7 years (the fire was in 07) and need our help again. So your alternative is....?
He tried to hang himself in the stockroom and broke his neck in the process? And where is this info coming from? Crazy wife on Facebook?
I don't mean to get all cray cray with you, but here's a radical idea I'd like you to think about: How's about letting people spend their money the way they want to? Totally cray cray, I know, the concept that people would like to be able to take their money and hand it over to someone who else who'll spend it in whatever manner they deem best. I mean, I know that if somebody doesn't think that the person asking for money to is going to use it responsibly, they don't have to give anything at all, but is it so radical to think that somebody might want to hand money over to someone else in hopes that the other person will use it to make some kind of difference in their life? But hey, if you've got some answers that don't involve money, or can ensure that the person will be certain to use the money in a manner guaranteed to improve their lives, then I'm all ears. That's the best for everybody. Problems get solved, and I don't have to cough up cash. I like that, since I can put the money towards getting the transmission in my car fixed instead of helping someone who's in the hospital.
