My pity meter doesn't register - basketball riots

Arizona College kids go crazy because their team lost. Get stupid with cops, cops get physical.
Trying to feel pity or concern, but failing to do so.
If any of these kids were mine and I paid for them to go college, that gravy train would derail in about one minute. Any thoughts?

I think what I saw someone say about sports being to war what porn is to sex for us rings pretty true. Of course I hate sports, so it gives me a smug sense of satisfaction to see stupid-asses get their comeuppance for shit like this. Never got the mentality of people and the way they'll riot whether their team wins or loses.

It amazes me too. Then again being that guy "left over" the other team had to take when choosing teams in PE class pretty much turns you against team sports.
Anyway some guys at work get into the whole "my team - our team - we're going to the championship this year" like they were actually on the teams or something.

I love sports too, but not enough to want to break things, or beat the shit out of a cop.

I heard a ton of shit at work about "we did this" and "we did that" during whatever sports playoffs, as though any of the fuckers have ever played sports in their lives. It's rediculous.

I like some sports, but getting fucked up and starting a riot over a team losing or winning? Fuck that, sit your ass in jail, and use your brain for something other than a battering ram next time, kid.

Almost like people getting so wrapped up in watching soap operas or sometimes called "their stories."

Why does it seem to mostly be three sports that generate this kind of stupidity? Basketball, Hockey, and Soccer (that's "football" to you confused Yurpeenz)?

As an aside, that's what makes Mmmmmurrka!!! better than the rest of the world. We know what soccer is called.

Anyone get put in jail? Perhaps when the tuition train derailes, the way home become a bit obscure as well. Although 'MOMMY' might not be in agreement. Her haloed winged cherub from above can do no wrong after all.

Turns out it's more like "Students get beaten up by terrorist cops for no reason at all."



That officer should be shot dead. I'll gladly make an exception to my general opposition to the death penalty for a police officer who blindside tackles someone for talking on her cellphone.

Okay - so that particular cop should be charged/sued/whatever is applicable. Were all the cops doing it? That said, were all the kids rioting?
Point being if you were one of the kids rioting and the cops come...they're bring as ass-whipping with them normally.

It's not bright to walk up on police in riot gear responding to a riotous situation with their backs turned to you while you're holding a cup. The police had rocks, bottles and cups being thrown at them. The officers have no idea what she has in that cup.

The girl should have exercised a little more thinking. Did she actually think she would just cut through the police lines?

My kids aren't perfect.....but damn! They've never been involved in anything so bag'o'hammers stupid, thank goodness.

You don't walk up to cops in riot gear who've had rocks, bottles, cups, and now from what I've read firecrackers thrown at them. You especially don't come up behind them.

I'm just not going to lose any sleep over it. A riot was going on. The police already gave orders to disperse. The police were already shooting pepper spray and bean bags at people.

So you got footage of one tiny part of the overall riot where a bunch of people along with the girl where walking up to officers who had their backs to the girl and the other people. I don't really care.

Once again you and others knee-jerk over a few seconds of video taken completely out of context. Maybe the officer was out of line. Maybe the officer wasn't. Maybe orders were given to the girl and her group to fall back and they ignored those orders and kept approaching the police line.

Give me a better video of the incident and I'll give you a better "Monday Morning Quarterback" call but I refuse to be like you and the others who put no thought into what you are seeing other then to automatically scream bloody murder about it because on one side is a cop and on the other is a non-cop.

If there are police in riot gear out you would be an idiot to approach them from behind. What the fuck do you think would happen in such a situation? You, who've had contact with the police (probably just got out of jail again ) on multiple occasions should know that.

1. People rioting about sports is beyond stupid. They deserve an ass beating.

2. There's nothing wrong with being a sports fan. It's a lot of fun if you're not a psycho about it.

3. Playing sports is even better but it usually means you're competitive in nature. If you're not, it's probably not going to work out.

Speaking of cops - I got pulled over in Aiken South Carolina about ten days ago, and all I got was a warning......love you Aiken!
If that would have been Columbia County GA (my county) I would still be in jail. So out of my last four cop encounters, this one didn't cause me any heartache.

They never even made it to the police line. One of them mentions that their car is up past them, so, what, they couldn't even ask the police anything? And in what universe is that level of force justified? Not to mention how he had to pick on the woman who's maybe 120 lbs soaking wet. Fucker probably just felt like clobbering someone and picked on someone weak and light that he knew he could push quite a ways, and you're defending him? And don't try to claim that you're not when you clearly are.

And why didn't he whack all those other people with her.......ZOMBIE???? Huh...huh?!

The police line was feet from the girl.....

A police line also includes a area behind them that is a no go area..... which the girl was entering.

Like I said I don't care. It's a riot. Don't get near riot police in the middle of a riot.
