rewrite the textbooks yet again

When it comes to discoveries in outer space, the textbooks are going to be constantly re-written.

A shame that more time isn't spent teaching about space or space exploration in schools.

IIRC Earth Science where most of it is taught is an 8th grade topic. When I taught geography I managed to slip in as much of our solar system stuff as possible. Likewise I made sure to get a unit on space exploration into contemporary American history.

Where should it? The major (and a few minor) religions are taught from a historical perspective with an overview regarding major theological beliefs.

The only name left that hasn't been used is Vulcan! But this new planet probably wouldn't be hot or volcanic.

You can have volcanos or at leasts ice geysers. IIRC Triton (Neptune's moon) has some erupting.

Seems like he's trying to force a "conflict" between religion vs science, which is a very popular "mass media" viewpoint thing to do. That the more we humans learn about science, the more that weakens religions. And since he knows you're a religious man, he's trying to bait you with this. I, personally, do not see science and religion as necessarily diametrically opposed.

"Janus" is a good name. Certain phonetic and thematic similarities to "Uranus" which if the mass estimates are correct would be closest to it in size.

Growing up Pluto was the 9th planet after Neptune except for that period when Neptune was actually further from the Sun than Neptune, making Pluto the 8th planet during that time, & Neptune the 9th, as can be read about here:

IF this planet is proven to exist, it will be very interesting. At that distance from the Sun, with one revolution around the Sun taking anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 Earth years, is amazing.

Plus the atmosphere & interior of this planet would be very interesting for study. Plus whatever moons it may have, & perhaps rings as well?

If this planet exists, it's a major planet along the lines of Neptune or Uranus. Therefore, a major god's name is fitting. Minerva? Hera?

Probably none. Too far, too cold and too big (from the sound of it).

Even terraforming nearby planets is something that none of us will ever see in our lifetime and probably not our kids or grandkids lifetimes either.

And you can forget colonizing other star systems. That might as well be in the realm of fantasy.

We will have to make due with this planet for a very very long time so it would make sense to take good care of it...
