I don't know @El Chup's friends either, but I don't call them heathens, immoral, disgusting, animals, or any other insult. But you do so, he doesn't know the invisible sky man, and neither do you. Yet you demand respect for this entity that you do not know. Why is it that one must show you this respect but you don't on the basis that you do not agree with who or what they are?
God isn't real. You can't prove the existence of God. Belief in God is evidence of a serious mental illness. God is made up for weak people. Often, God is used to explain things that stupid people are too useless to understand. God is another word for Allah as in Allah Akbar which is what dirty Muslims say before they blow them selves up. Belief in God therefore makes you a stupid terrorist.
Already did in post #95 , which was made before your little whine about "invisible sky man", so that proves your complaint is nonsense, that you weren't honest about responding to posts that use "God" and you were looking for an excuse to avoid addressing the points I've been raising. In other words I already unwittingly tried it and you still bellyached and tried to run off.
You're forced by law to participate in homosexual acts? Did a judge force you to give a drag queen a blow job or marry a big hairy bear?
Be honest. Could you actually respect someone who changes their beliefs held for 40 years or so due to having a bacterial infection for a few weeks?
People who convert to Christianity during illness get their butts kissed by your fellow travelors. Just sayin.
Wow, RyanKCR is here? Now we really have achieved "religious morons from TBBS" critical mass... Don't bother heading to the shelter... It's less of an explosion and more of a long, whistling fart.
Many people say that such experiences change their views on things, particularly given that your condition was a serious one and potentially fatal if not caught early. You were reliant on many different people during that time, and who is to say that some of the medical staff who treated you don't hold similar beliefs to me? Maybe even that some of them were gay? If that were the case what would they think about you saying to other people "I demand you respect me but you can go to hell if you don't like whatever I say about you and/or your beliefs"? Point is that you do not give off the impression that you see any value in human beings outside your family. You give off the impression that you feel entitled to certain privileges and a certain life, even if they are unearned. But the reality is that when you demand behaviour from others that you do not return, you give out a very dislikable quality and it makes you look very selfish. Surely that's not how you wish to be perceived? Didn't Jesus say treat unto others during the sermon on the mount? Surely you realise that part of that involves accommodating the different perspectives and different nature of others? Now, are you going to address post #95? No, I thought not. The whole "invisisble sky man" complaint was just an excuse, wasn't it?
Cured. Typo. It was a reference to your statement. You're saying that your attitude towards homosexuals has nothing to do with religious belief?
The Book of Job explains it best which although it is Old Testament does an excellent job answering questions about why people suffer. In my opinion, God wants humans to CHOOSE to follow and obey him. He gives all sorts of incentives for correct behavior and actions but he will not take the actual choice away from us. I believe the dog analogy is the correct one even though God is far, far more above humans than humans are of dogs. Ultimately you cannot judge God by human standards though and through the prism of simple human understanding.
Mind if I answer this post of yours in sections? And yeah I still find "invisible sky man" to be deeply offensive. But in answer to this paragraph of yours. I don't give a rats ass whether the medical staff who treated me (and still treat me for that matter) were Christians, atheists, Muslims, secularists, straight, gay or whatever. They are paid to DO THEIR DAMN JOBS. I taught my students the same even if they included some atheists (I had a few who were) or gay (I had a few who were) from what I've heard.
I'd certainly say that regardless of my Christian beliefs, homosexual behavior, along with the other behavior mentioned up thread, should not be embraced as anything other than deviant, disgusting and repugnant. Similar to most of you cretins.
Why can't I judge God my human standards? What else is there to judge him/it with? Anyhow, so you're saying God gave us the right to choose, but it's also said that if we do what he doesn't like it's evil and we get punished. It's his fault and choice if he gives us that right, so why do we deserve to be punished for using it?
Yes. Changing a belief is not a bad thing in and of itself when the evidence proves you wrong or life circumstances open up your eyes or evaluate what's truly important.
I'm not sure how you get the impression I don't value human beings outside my family. I value them more of course but that doesn't mean I don't assign some value to all people. And no that isn't what I infer based on Jesus Sermon on the Mount. From the way I see it he wanted us to treat people the way we wanted to be treated. That in no way means we're to value and respect other peoples belief systems as equal to our own.
