Just another dick-head who doesn't understand what the complaint is. I agree with the guy in the first video, but I won't refuse to watch it. I'll watch it when it comes on Netflix.
I think that article is hyperbolic, and agenda infused, but I do think James Rolfe is full of shit. He doesn't like bad Ghostbusters content? He made his bones off playing the GB NES game to completion. That trilogy of episodes made him internet famous. He doesn't want to give Sony his money? He owns all 4 Playstations. From Sony. Bought from internet money he made off playing Ghostbusters.
Maybe TPTB in Hollywood could've gone just a tad bit more "original" with this upcoming female ghostbusters & had it be a female version of this ... now utterly obscure relic from TV's Landfill! And remember this?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_(1986_TV_series) Which bravely went up against in the daily weekday afternoon battle for ratings from the Kindergarten through 8th Grade crowd! There's a certain irony in that the cartoon based on the 1984 flick titled itself , given the whole history of all this Ghostbuster stuff!
Hillary is going to appear on Ellen with the cast of the new Ghostbusters. Ellen said to bring your gender card.
Leslie Jones' s lines... Stereotyping dialogue aside, this is still an improvement over the first trailer.
I watch the trailer and I feel like I did when I walked out of the Coneheads movie, "I've seen something, I'm not sure what it is, I'm not sure if I liked it, but I don't feel like I think I should be feeling after I saw something with that title."
Being our token black woman, got to ask you what you think of my argument that this wasn't about an organically great movie, but rather the four women gimmick with a story built around it, which the stereotypes prove IMO. I seems all about "aren't we progressive?". But I find that hard to take when the movie disrespects black people and makes a buffoon characature out of a white man. Surely, at the very least the make up of the cast could have been more diverse. Mix of men and women and ethnicities? Or, if only women, how about a black, Asian or middle eastern Ghostbuster? What about the makers of this movie behind the scenes also are all men? I passionately feel that this project has conned a lot of people into thinking it's progressive when it isn't at all.
That's exactly what it is, it's liberals patting themselves on the back as they always do. Hollywood loves to do that, that's why almost every year or two there's a movie about slavery or civil rights and they almost always get an Oscar for it.
You're playing to the wrong crowd laddo. Slavery is one of the shames of American history and should rightly be discussed. How can you compare the two? Sorry mate, but it's comments like this that lead to you being called a child.
I'm not sure anybody thinks it's progressive. It's possible to see it as a gimick and enjoy it nevertheless.
I'm simply pointing out that Hollywood loves to pat itself on the back, not that movies shouldn't be made to highlight the horrors of slavery. Django did an excellent job of that and still managed to keep the Tarantino style.
I'd be happy to enjoy if it overcomes the gimmick. Problem is that progressive nerds don't want to admit that these trailers aren't advertising a good product. I'd also add that my willingness to giving it a chance would probably be increased if it weren't for the "men are dumb" and "black women are emotional blue collar messed up bitches" rhetoric that this shit is feeding us. Aside from any of this, we have two trailers where the jokes fall criminally flat. You want to defend it because it was filmed in your back yard? Be my guest. You're telling me this looks like a worthy remake? You're delusional.
Save us from this evil, Chuperman! Defeat Ghostbusters 2016 so that all war and hunger on Earth may end forever! God and the Bald Eagle be with you, Chuperman!
It could actually stink. I'll judge it when I see it. I waited until I saw Fantastc Four before weighing in on it.
I'll wait for the reviews. I have no other opinion on it at this time. Worst case, it sucks and I go back to my DVDs of the originals and pretend this never happened. I would like to go back and revisit some episodes of the cartoon. Too bad it's not on Netflix.
FWIW, I've never claimed it to be progressive, only that the I personally wasn't going to dismiss the film outright for the genderswap aspect. But yeah, if you wanna claim progress (general "you" referring to Hollywood execs), then go all the damn way. The original black Ghostbuster's role was marginalized because supposedly the role was written for Eddie Murphy and he backed out at the last minute. But there's no such excuse here.
Hmm. I've gotta say that I prefer Ernie Hudson in the film to Eddie, since Eddie tends to be more broad, and less subtle in his performances than what Ernie was in the original.
Finally, soundtrack info. There is indeed going to be pop songs like the other two. From here.... http://www.ghostbustershq.net/home/2016/6/2/ghostbusters-2016-soundtrack-release-date-and-details So, GB1 had Ray Parker Junior's "Ghostbusters", GB2 had Bobby Brown's "Own Our Own", so it looks like Elle King's "Good Girls", is going to be that for this one. As said above, that comes out tomorrow. Also, there will be a separate score album.
They had me at Elle King Amazing that she has so much talent given her father is Rob Schnieder who emails employed only due to Adamn Sandler's generosity. And also, no one else waning to work on Adam Sandler's projects after Jack and Jill killed what little credibility left.
