Guy threatening to sue WB because Squad didn't have enough Joker in it: Link I get the feeling this guy eats a lot of McDonalds.... This is really funny if you're into laughing at complete losers but is likely a fake/troll.......but I tell you some of the fanboys I see and hear about this isn't all that far off from being real. I could see this being Kirk5555 over on Trekbbs.
The scene with Thing jumping out of a plane wasn't in "Fant4stic". "Place your bets", is never actually said in "Freddy vs Jason". Jillian Holtzmann never makes the rifle over her shoulders pose from 4 of the 10 posters, print ads, billboards, magazine photos, etc, in the finished film. The bit where Threepio rips danger stickers off Wampa pens so Stormtroopers will get eaten, it's not in Empire. It's in the trailers, and trading cards though. The extended bits of Superman getting burned, shot, and frozen in Luthor's lair from Superman '78 that were in the Viewmaster reels? Weren't put in until the second DVD release. This shit goes way back. This guy must be a newbie.
So, just as bad as BvS. The messed up thing is it's far too late for them to retool. http://www.theverge.com/2016/8/9/12...ussion-amanda-waller-deadshot-harley-quinn-dc
I don't buy that it's too late to retool. DC shows signs of doing just that for Justice League. And whatever you think of BvS, it made nearly $900 million; they're gonna keep trying. Suicide Squad is already locked on course to being profitable, even if it suffers a big second weekend dropoff. Can DC do better? Sure, but they're by no means on life support with the DCEU.
I don't buy that the DCEU is bad, I've enjoyed every movie so far. Is it as good as Marvel, not quite, but it's a different style and I favor DC characters over Marvel, Superman being my favorite.
Oh, I'm right there with you. BvS is one of my favorite superhero movies of all time (certainly in the Top 5). Zack Snyder may not be making movies that get maximum box office (though they haven't done badly by any stretch), but he's certainly making movies that work for me. Aside from BvS, his Watchmen and Man of Steel are also among my favorites.
I've seen people ask "if the Suicide Squad is to replace Superman...WTF are people like Harley there for? What's she going to do against another Zod?". I think the regular criminals are there to die. The real meta-humans are there to actually accomplish the task, but people like Harley and Deadshot, they just want dead, and hope these types of missions will do the job. Clearly Waller wanted Harley dead most of all. Little did she know, fanboy love makes her luck-invincible.
Get over yourself. It's done over $300 million worlwide after one week and broke the record for August opening and monday. Clearly there are many people who disagree with your high and mighty assessment.
http://deadline.com/2016/08/weekend-box-office-suicide-squad-sausage-party-petes-dragon-1201802677/ Anything else to say you moronic splooge junkies?
We'll see how much Sausage Party cuts into SS this weekend. My guess is that Suicide Squad will either hold on to be #1 again, or it will be a close #2. I imagine it will exit the weekend in the mid-to-high $400 million range, putting it in very respectable territory. I bet it will hold on for #3 the following weekend, and will finish its run somewhere in the $550-600 million range.
You're bearing is pointless. It's under performing. And now Sausage is going to eat it's lunch. Fanboys.
No it's not. You're "source" for that is a hack writer with a blind source. It passed GOG for biggest August opening and continued it success the next Monday where it set another record. That is not an opinion. That is FACT. Deal with it We'll see about that. You're only "source" for that prediction is the same hack writer who tried to make a big deal about a friday to saturday drop. Not to mention the fact he's updating and revising his figures which shows a bigger haul for suicide squad than he first predicted Haters
I think WB has got to be satisfied with SS's performance. Here's a comic book property that has no big names (except, perhaps, the Joker in a limited role and the two cameos which aren't being pushed in the ads) and it's headed for around $600 million worldwide. Not quite the boffo numbers Fox enjoyed over Deadpool, but still very, very good. Expect a sequel and/or Harley Quinn spinoff film announcement any day.
All of this despite negative reviews. Let's face it, the average movie goer probably saw the trailers and thought it looked like a fun action movie. I'd say most people aren't thinking about plot or things that reviewers think of. The movie delivered well enough and wasn't as horrible as the reviews. I wonder how much of the Nolan Batman movies still allows DC/WB some good faith from audiences?
People are paying to see these movies so obviously the critics and marvel fanboys are not the target audience. Looking forward to Wonder Woman and Justice League next year.
WW looks really good. I'm definitely looking forward to JL, but I wish they would have stuck with the plan of having a two parter.
