The general election is on November 8, 2016 BUT remember we are not voting for the candidate. We are voting for the electors.

The electors don't meet until December 19, 2016 and they vote for President and Vice-President on separate ballots.

Those votes don't get counted until January 6, 2017 in a joint session of Congress. At that point we then officially have a President-elect and a Vice-President-elect which is what the 20th Amendment covers.

Understand the bold parts. Even if Clinton wins on November 8 she is not President-elect. She may be called President-elect by the media but she is not. If she were incapacitated or even died before December 19, 2016 the electors who were going to vote for her could by Federal law vote for anyone they wanted. Even you Gul.

If after the electors vote but before the votes are counted on January 6, 2017 Hillary Clinton is incapacitated or dead the Constitution is silent on whether she would be a President-elect or not.

That, @Wonka, is where the Constitutional crisis I mentioned comes from. In both cases there would be arguments over what would happen.

In the first case, before the electors vote, there would be cries that she won the election and therefore Kaine should become President. But Federal law doesn't require the electors to vote for him as President. One could easily see lawsuits trying to force the electors to vote a certain way.

In the second case, after the electors vote, a stronger argument could be made that she was President-elect by virtue of having won the electoral vote and therefore the 20th Amendment should apply. However it could be challenged and the Supreme Court would have to deal with it. Personally I think they would let the 20th Amendment cover her and let Kaine become POTUS for the sake of the country.

Actually, she might have pneumonia caused by Parkinson's, which is a very common symptom because patients have trouble swallowing food and water correctly all the time. Water goes down the wrong hatch and ends up in the lungs. Thus she would have pneumonia and yet know that the pneumonia is not at all contagious, as would those in her inner circle.
