That's called "reality". The oil is currently moving on rail cars that not infrequently derail. Until the pipeline is complete the oil will continue to by train. On those North Dakota rails travel about 600,000 barrels of oil per day.

It is called jury nullification. There is very clear evidence they conspired but the jurors say they do not see a conspiracy and the bullets do not matter. Translation: we like them so we will just say not guilty and have the only opposing jurist removed.

It is small town bullshit. You can get away with it in certain places because the jury pool is not diverse, and possibly fixed. If they did it in a more culturally diverse location like a crowded blue state they would never find enough solid white trash to make jury nullification a possibility.

Here's the thing about this: It isn't like yesterday some Eeevil Oil Company Fatcat woke up and said "I think I'm going to build an oil pipeline." This was years and years in the works. There were public comment periods, meetings, environmental impact statements, permits. All that happened with nary a peep. Then, after the decision had been made, suddenly it's a big deal and can't be allowed. Tough. Should have said something when you had your chance.

It's like people who worry about getting shot while in a room full of gun toting extremists. What's to obsess about? When has anyone ever been harmed because of their race?

I don't know if that's entirely true... WHile I agree that he'd treat his socio-economic peers with due courtesy and without regard to race, I don't think he's one to dismiss those of us occupying lower strata based simply on that measure.
