My cabinet would be made of @Spaceturkey @Mrs. Albert and @Lt. Mewa and we would oversee the legalization of pot...all strands would be...*ahem* heavily vetted. Every Tuesday would be federally funded Taco Tuesday, including one take truck outside of every dispensery. We'd all ban Packard for good.
Tacos El Paisa (It mean "the countryman" or the fellow countryman) has a great Taco Tuesday deal. They also serve some pretty damn authentic TJ style street tacos with all the fixing and meat combinations you can think of. I go to the original location down on Imperial but the recently opened a new location in PB right on the beach. It is at the foot of Grand Ave very near Chrystal Pier. They dip the tortillas in the meat juices then heat them on the flat iron grill. That really gives the tortillas a nice flavor. Stick to tacos though because their burritos aren't very good. It is a taco shop not a burrito shop.
I agree that you weed smokers should be able to "do your thing" legally. Realistically nearly every home in the US has one or more family members on all kinds of legal but dangerous medications and drugs. Just because a doctor gives it to you that doesn't mean it's safe or necessary. And booze is one of the most harmful, toxic drugs on the planet. Granted I don't smoke weed because for most of my adult life I have had jobs where there are two non-negotiable requirements: 1. make weight 2. don't piss hot So even if it were legal and I had a job that didn't piss test I still wouldn't smoke it, but not for moral reasons. It just makes sense to legalize it.
Yeah, it is quite the bummer that it is illegal. I don't really drink anymore, so it can make some social gatherings a bit awkward. Drunk people are not entertaining when you're sober. They're barely tolerable when you're high.
Paisa (It mean "the countryman" or the fellow countryman - Dinner small world! Okay, small latinate language based world anyway. "Paesano" (we've all heard that word I'm sure) means "one who is of/from the related place" (or as you said fellow countryman) too, but in Italian! Sorry to go off on a tangent, but in my defense don't weed smokers go off on a tangent and then say "dude....that's so trippy!" over such things? No? Hey, it's hip to be square!
