This looks like it might be the best of the new films. Not that it matters anymore, but to George Lucas, this is how depict a cunning warrior.
Matthew Vaughn to perhaps direct the next Man of Steel movie. http://io9.gizmodo.com/warner-bros-is-looking-at-matthew-vaughn-to-direct-a-n-1793230960 That would be pretty damn awesome, his movies are fantastic.
Much as I enjoyed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, I would like to see a Superman movie that's a little more fun and upbeat. Vaughn might be the guy to deliver on that.
Trailer for the trailer for Justice League. Full trailer Saturday. Can you fucking believe the Comicon trailer was 8 goddamned months ago??
Didn't care for it initially--Flash should not have armor!--but it looks pretty good in dark movie settings.
I think the logic of it is, it's made of space shuttle heat tiles to protect him from friction because they haven't invented the magic flexible fabric yet. Bruce Wayne will probably upgrade him later.
Why don't they just use whatever his socks are made out of? He's a teenager in this version, right? He's probably giving at least one of his socks a severe workout on an almost hourly basis.
He's not supposed to need to be protected from friction. In the comics he has an "aura" that does that.
That sounds good, but that's one of those quasi-scientific explanations that's actually worse than NO explanation. If the suit protects him against friction, then why isn't his face covered? And if he's going fast enough to generate air friction, he better not open his mouth or his eyes against that kind of air flow. Yes, that's the proper explanation. Same reason Superman's clothes don't rip.
Nothing to do with the costume, but I really like that guitar riff they seem to have assigned to her. It's got some element of the Williams Superman theme to it, somehow the same sort of chill-up-the-spine here-comes-the-awesome vibe.
I wonder how they're going to handle Superman. They can't seem to decide if they're keeping him secret, even though we know Cavill is in the flick, and they've put out a pic of Superman with the League already. My hunch, they'll keep him out of trailers to not spoil his actual reveal, but put him in posters, but what they WILL keep secret, is Green Lantern.
Well, look at the evidence. The first Aquaman poster that came out during BvS said "unite the seven". There's 5 characters there on display, we know Superman's coming back to life, that's 6, the 7th has to be Green Lantern. I mean, it could be Martian Manhunter, but I doubt it, since they've got him on Supergirl. Also, insider sources say Army Hammer keeps floating around in WB's crosshairs for some role in the DCEU. They wanted him to be Batman in the Justice League movie they tried to make in the 00's (with George Miller directing), and they've never taken him off their wish list. I'm thinking he'll either be GL, or Nightwing. A standalone GL movie is coming anyway, so why not set him up in Justice League?
Yes, they finally made Auquaman badass. I'm guessing subsequent trailers will feature Superman in the black suit.
So, what's going to make this movie different than any of the Avengers movies, with the serial numbers filed off? I mean, the trope of a bunch of people who are forced to learn that they can only survive if they learn to work together as a team is a pretty old one (and apparently still needed, because so many people today don't seem to realize that, but that's another matter). I'm not dissing on the trailer, just saying that it looks like you could easily swap out the DC characters for Marvel ones, and have the same trailer.
