So Melania decides to do something cool... and is rejected because Theodore Geiselle is racist. What?
Ahhh the hypocrite. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/09/2...mps-dr-seuss-books-dressed-as-cat-in-hat.html
It's no secret that I lean to the left, but this librarian's stupidity only hurts the dialogue going on about racism in the country, and good on Melania for doing this. Holy. Shit.
Missed that (c'mon, Tererun ), but I did catch him disparaging Melania for the very fact of fucking Donald and giving birth to his spawn
This ladies hatred for Trump has led her to make a fool of herself. How could you say Dr. Seuss of all things is racist? Especially when you yourself are in photos wearing Dr. Seuss outfits? That's one of many photos BTW of her in costume or holding the books of Dr. Seuss. Than she compares Dr. Seuss to racism and blackface minstrel characteristics. The man was none of those things. You just have to look at his non-children's work to see that. "You may not be aware of this, but Dr. Seuss is a bit of a cliche, a tired and worn ambassador for children's literature" That picture above is from 2015. Just dumb.
And here's another hypocritical idiot. Randy Marsh. Went after Columbus Day and Columbus statutes. Later caught not only wearing Columbus outfits but kicking Native Americans off land that Randy claims is his. The behavior is appalling.
As a third grader I met Dr Suess, I feel I knew Dr Suess at least marginally better than peasants like youself. You, sir, are no Dr Suess. Oh, on the upside the originally pottery he created which was kept in his front yard in La Jolla was actually pretty cool. It is a shame some dirt bags stole it out of the yard. It was at least a nice effort that they named the UCSD main library after him. P.S. I still treasure when he read his new "Butter Battle Book" to my 3rd grade class. Yeah, that was cool shit. The guy who drew Charlie Brown was kind of lame though. In fact, the 7th grade me did not like him.
Reminds me when the woman was claiming that a police dog was a racist. It was one of the most memorable Hannity & Colmes. Alan Colmes actually conducted the interview while off screen you could hear Hannity unable to contain his laughter.
You're racist! I had to help you by following up that statement with a ridiculous accusation of racism.
To be fair, some of his WW2 anti-Japanese cartoons were pretty racist. http://www.openculture.com/2014/08/dr-seuss-draws-racist-anti-japanese-cartoons-during-ww-ii.html But taken as a whole his books consistently promote a message of open-mindedness and tolerance of differences.
I remember when Michelle Obama was attacked for simply trying to get more healthy food into public schools. It's sad that people are so blinded by partisanship that they mock people for attempting to do public good.
This. Everyone got on the propaganda bandwagon during WWII. Is this librarian going to boycott Disney? The operative term here is was, not "is."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/twitter-accuses-michelle-obama-pushing-214722721.html Michelle Obama often donated the exact same books to schools and there was not a peep about supposed racism then. Only when Melania tried to donate the same books to school libraries did it magically become racist.
I've really hated the left for pulling this shit. She didn't expect him to win anymore than anyone else and if he's still bitterly making swipes at reporters who badmouthed him back in the 80s, I can only imagine e he would try to slam a wife who tried to divorce his was and claim abuse.
A scientific study should be done why people do things like this. She had to know that she herself dressed up as a Seuss character not once but multiple times. Why did she think in this age of internet that stuff wouldn't come back to bite her in the ass?
To call Dr. Seuss cliche implies everyone has copied him ad nauseum. I'm not aware of that being the case. He's far less cliche than, oh I don't know, Shakespeare. Dr. Seuss is arguably one of the most important authors of the 20th century. He came into a Dick and Jane children's lit culture and made it fun and imaginative, while still slipping in educational ideas and morals. Maybe you can't get your first-graders interested in anything except Disney picture books, but don't shoot off your venom at someone just because someone you hate likes him.
If you saw the miserable slop she help foist upon public schools you would not be so sympathetic to her. Besides it made nutrition actually worse because more and more kids simply bring junk food to eat.
I loved his book about the Truffalo trees or whatever. The Super Axe Whacker was one outstanding machine.
Wait, you are arguing from a position of knowing what words such as cliche mean. Isn't that pretty much special pleading at this point?
