Haven't confirmed this yet, but I've heard that a neighbor of the church exchanged gunfire with the perp and when the bad guy got in his vehicle to leave, the neighbor and another guy chased him in another vehicle (the black pickup you may have seen in aerial shots from the place where the chase ended), eventually running him off the road. Law enforcement showed up and either shot the perp or he shot himself.

When will it be enough to decide we take steps to change our gun culture? I'm pretty sure the majority of people in that church were armed or otherwise knowledgeable in guns because Texas and the guy still managed to kill nearly 30 people so far.
