Because I believe transgendered people are discriminated against and thought of as unnatural and disgusting by many people. This is a wrong, and I generally oppose wrongness.

 

As a general rule I try not to be an asshole. My only concern is when assholes treat non-binary like second class citizens.

Side note but I used the women's restroom again today. We were at the Cyclops in Belltown and in like a lot bars there was no changing table. However I went and checked and the women's room had a nice long counter top.

So I went in and changed Rio. Someone came in and I explained that there was no where to change in the men's room and that I'd be out soon. She just laughed and said it is bullshit that there aren't changing tables and went into a stall, started peeing and then we talked about small children (her's are in middle and high school). We then had fun trying to share the sink b/c Rio kept reaching across and activating the automatic soap dispenser.

Poor woman was probably traumatized by the whole thing.

Different cultures have had different notions about gender for centuries. It's well documented. Sex is immutable but gender depends on the culture.

1) There have been women who have given birth despite being virgins due to purely 20th century technology. Artificial insemination. perhaps you've heard of it.
2) The Ark did not have to hold "millions of animals". Only about 13,000 IIRC from the estimates based on size and the number of different species necessary for Earth replenishment.
3) The Ark didn't "sail" anywhere. It simply floated atop flood waters and I recall no mention of a "heavy storm" in Genesis.
4) Seas already "part" in some places in the world anyway. I seem to recall a place along the coast of South Korea where at a certain time of year a combination of the tides and currents cause the Sea of Japan to pull back and people walk on solid ground from an island off shore to the coast. They have a big celebration when this happens.

Arkansas history and science standards are basically the same as most other states in the U.S. The Bible is only referenced in a historical context regarding Christianity along with Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and other religions. If you want I can dig out my handout for World History students on comparative religions and probably post a copy here if its still on a Flashdrive.
