First, Memphis has to prove a pattern of land sales similar to this sale to prove they didn’t commit these sales to bypass the law. That will be impossible.

Secondly, Greenspace has until tomorrow to prove they can actually finance their efforts, including statue preservation.

Good question. When do people stop becoming "Great-whatevers" and start becoming an ancestor? As I said earlier, my wife has family who was one of Forrest's best friends and served with him during the war...but she doesn't consider him her "ancestor". She refers to him as her great-great grandfather.

As an aside, we were back in middle TN two weekends ago for her uncle's funeral. While we were at her family's graveyard, I found her great-great grandaddy's headstone. Some of those headstones went back to the 18th century.

That's actually the same reason I walked away. HQ can put out all the press releases they want and maybe the executives believe what they're spewing, but without exception, every single person I've ever met that was a rank and file member of the SCV was a racist.
