So, a 4th package exploded, this time with a tripwire... Seems there is a disturbed individual/terrorist making bombs in Austin and placing them around the city, terrorising the populace... Scary shit, when every unexpected package could be a bomb... Edit, just saw an article a package exploded at the San Antonio FedEx Facility which might be linked to this... https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/explosion-fedex-austin_us_5ab0dbe0e4b00549ac7ee78d
Since the first three devices exploded on Austin’s predominantly black and Hispanic east side, it was thought there might’ve been a racial element to the attacks. Sunday’s bomb exploded in a different part of town, though. The one at the FedEx facility today apparently was headed to an Austin address. And, no, I’m almost never awake this early unless I’m at work.
It was thought that the first three packages were hand-delivered, not sent through a parcel service. The forth was obviously set in place and rigged with a tripwire. Now they’re using FedEx? The shifting M.O. makes this threat all the more dangerous.
That, of course, ignores the reality of the two folks killed and two folks injured recently. The reality is the data is mixed and would be pontificators of supposed racial victimhood should really wait until we know real information. I know facts are unpopular but ever the best policy is to wait for them to come out.
And FedEx makes it completely unpredictable. With UPS, at least you could expect a package to be delivered to its addressee.
What reality is that? The first three bombs killed or injured African American and Hispanic people. Are you talking about how all of the victims seem to be connected?
True. Though with UPS there is a substantial chance the bomb would be effectively destroyed before being delivered.
The newsreport I heard is the last one seemed random. We will probably have to wait until the guy is caught and they find his manifesto.
Three prominent black families in Texas seems like conclusion enough. If it were a truck bombing in London, you would not be waiting for fact to call out the driver as a member of ISIS.
Two bombs went to prominent black families, one went to a Latina, one injured two white cyclists, one injured a fedex employee who has not been named. Claiming there is a racial pattern seems grossly premature. It may well be racial in the end or it may be political, or it may well be random acts of violence. We need more evidence before interest groups start crying victimhood.
Again, you'd be screaming Muslims!!!! after ONE victim if it was a truck plowing into pedestrians, or a pipebomb. Anna's right, and the only Fantasy World is one where you're not considered paranoid, delusional or dangerously insane. Stopped clock rule on not jumping to conclusions here notwithstanding.
Since Matthunter broke the "tasteless" joke barrier (thanks!) let me add my thoughts: I got yer "exploding package" right here! BTW that is not me But damned it I don't look like a slightly lighter skinned version of him!
World golf matchplay starting in Austin tomorrow. Next 5days. Some very high profile sports stars playing.
Nope D, no fantasy. Ya might wanna take a look in the mirror and question why folk see the image you project. Incidentally, I've got money in liquor stocks.
http://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/reported-package-explosion-austin-injures-officials/story?id=53868609 God damn it, that is the second one today. This time at a Goodwill store.
Apparently the latest incident is unrelated to the ongoing bombings. Austin PD says a box of donated items dropped off at the Goodwill contained a couple of old artillery simulators and the employee accidentally set one of them off when he was sorting the stuff in the box.
