I first heard/saw the "Wild Thing" video when I was in army basic training. Funky Cold Medina (just as good IMO) came out when I was in army advanced technical training. No more Tone Loc songs came out to my knowledge after that - maybe I jinxed him.
I follow her on facebook, and she looks pretty much the same as back then, just without the big hair.
wow - quite the natural, healthy looking babe I must say! She doesn't even have to try to look good - she makes it seem so easy!
Chup? Oh, hi Chup, you hopeless coke addict! Damn, I miss the Eighties! Too young for all the delicious drugs, but ready for the music! So many good tunes...! Those were the days!
one nitpick.. Madness (Our House) was far from a one hit wonder. Quite the contrary, they were one of the biggest ska acts of the era. Oh, and the Tears for Fears songs you've listed were from two separate albums. "the hurting" and "songs from the big chair".
Hey! I cut my hair like that. I always miss spots trying to buzz it myself, and I have to re-do it once my family spots my patches of hair.
so much for that theory... seems the person I have the most common musical tastes of the era with is Oldfella.
Possibly we share common tastes but allow me to retort: the best Toto song is Georgy Porgy (guest vocalist Cheryl Lynn best known for "To Be Real" with an awesome bass line). Okay, the basic musical template of Georgy Porgy is similar to "Jojo" from Boz Scaggs circa 1982 but youtube/google all this and you'll see what I mean. But seriously music should bust through all partisan lines - it's like math. It's pure truth.
agree - late 80's but still 80's. Just about the hottest she has ever been or any performer will ever be.
