You may have read I am starting up a LARPinng business. I was wondering if some sort of holodeck area could be set up under mine and the site's moderation where people could talk in character on this board. I am looking to be profitable at this in the near future and would be sharing any profits generated from storytelling and game activity related to said holodeck under a predetermined percent established through discussion. I am a strict game master so the people involved will be under control. If this is not an activity you envision bringing here I perfectly understand am an only asking because you seem like interesting people who like a little online adventure and might be up for it. I am perfectly capable of setting up my own board for such things and am writing this as just a way to involve friends in a new business and fun adventure. If you need more idea about what I am talking about I can certainly answer questions and also would note that my idea involves any characters created by users being in the world in the beginning which would mean songwriting potential and involvement with the plot if requested. Let me know if you are interested. Even in the future if not now.
I would recommend the owners of this board turn this down. #1 Liability if something does go wrong will be a big issue for the owners of this board. #2 Wordforge is not Westworld and the members of the board aren't hosts for your customers amusement. #3 The owners of Wordforge own this website but it is not a business. They would have to incorporate to protect themselves and be able to sign contracts between Wordforge and Tererun's company. #4 In the event of a dispute Wordforge could wreck Tererun's LARP company by cutting off access. Lawsuits could wreck this board in return. It is best to start your own website as you said and go from there.
How difficult is it to set up another sub-forum where Tererun has mod privileges? I think a separate brand is needed and it might bring fresh meet to the other fora. ETA yeah yeah, obrien had me going. nevermind.
That is why I ask. It would be an administrative head ache that I would not want to bring upon the place if it were not interested. It would alter the direction of the board if successful in a way that may not be desired and I understand the desire not to do such a thing. However once it is going I may ask a few people if they wish to participate elsewhere. Thanks for the consideration.
As a self confessed master troll it amused me that you would even have the naivety to propose it in the first place.
Can wordforge server handle a ultima online emulated server that game is perfect for hard core gamers. http://www.runuo.net/forum/forum/ma...2085-best-uo-core-to-use-to-build-a-new-shard
I did LARP about twice in my teenage years. Once at a nerd convention (Read: Role Playing Game convention) and once at my best friend's older brothers S.C.A meet up. It was reasonably fun but didn't seem like the type of place to meet girls (which quickly becomes what 15-16 year old boys are most interested in) so I haven't been back since. Now, Lop (also called larb or lap), as in the food dish from Laos, is great and I highly recommend that to everyone. The Thai version is too sweet as they add sugar where as the Lao version uses that dark colored aged fish sauce which adds a wonder flavor.
Really a facepalm? From what I understand of minecraft is you can create all sorts of worlds and environments, I was thinking people around here would be into that.
