Very possibly (and probably, I think). However, tempting though it may be to write our own narrative, it could be any of a multitude of other motivations (personal grudge, disgruntled employee, etc.).

Reports are the shooter is a "white male" "in his 20s" "with a ponytail" and that he is "not cooperating with police" and is "refusing to identify himself."

I wonder if the Trump defenders will consider that the Trump Administration's continual demonising of the press, cries of "Fake News", threats of shutting down critical news agencies and constant assertions that the press are unfair to dear Donald might help legitimise the idea of attacks on press offices?

Huh. Imagine that. Now, let's look at the numbers. One could draw from those numbers that there's societal problems which lead more white males to become mass shooters than people of other ethnic backgrounds, or one could conclude that there's something genetic responsible. Take your pick.
