No thread on this? Trump meets with Putin without any other Americans for 130 minutes, then during the joint press conference just completely sells out the country. Asked straight up if there was a SINGLE thing he blamed Russia for (say, invading Georgia, annexing the Crimea, invading the Ukraine, MH-17, backing Assad, election hacking, killing British citizens with WMD, etc. etc.) all he can do is blame Obama and say both sides did stupid things. Asked if he believe American intelligence agencies over Putin he attacked our intelligence agencies, democrats and boasted about his election victory. @Paladin is so proud.
Even Fox and Friends couldn't defend that "I blame the US for foolishness" tweet. Maybe they think Trump won't be doing his usual binging, but I bet he's recorded it. Yeah, this was a fucking shitshow. He might as well have rimmed Putin live on stage.
What the fuck were you people thinking? I've been pretty much convinced that the Trump campaign worked with Russian intelligence to influence the election in 2016, but in the back of my mind there was this small sliver of my conscious that thought it might have all been a coincidence and that everything that happened was just Russian actions against us... but after that display, I really think Putin has something on him. There is no doubt anymore.
So Russia has done nothing wrong, but the EU is a "foe"...and all this after completely shitting all over Britain. I notice that through this entire weekend of ghastliness the board Trumpsters have been curiously quiet.
Can someone please explain to me how President Donald J. Trump didn't just hit the trifecta with that press conference?
C'mon, you Republican assholes. Are you still going to sit there and do nothing because "he's your guy"?
He has an R behind his name as do the majority of members of both houses. He could kill someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and Republicans would pass a non binding resolution saying that next time he should please consult them first and that it was Pelosi and Schumer's fault.
It's bad enough No, they're also going to sit there and do nothing because Trump is willing to rubber stamp irresponsible nightmare legislation.
No, you misunderstand me. If Congress can't put country ahead of party politics, you really are doomed as a nation. It doesn't matter what happens in the midterms. EDIT: Let's be clear, here. This isn't a left- or right-wing issue. This isn't about Democrats or Republicans. This is about the highest elected official in your country publicly siding with a hostile power over his own national security agencies.
I'd argue he was impeachable over a year ago because inability to competently execute the office is also a ground for impeachment. On your point though, after sowing division between America and it's European and G7 allies, trying to break down the Middle East peace process, throwing the Iran Deal in the dustbin without an alternative, being conned by Kim Jung Un in the face of US intelligence agencies, who say North Korea is hiding it's nukes, attacking the free press at any given chance and flagrantly lying on an almost hourly basis, the Commander in Chief of the United States of America refuses to ever criticise Putin and is now choosing to believe the Russians over his own law enforcement and intelligence agencies. I mean how can they honestly continue to make excuses for this shit?? If that were Obama or "Crooked Hillary" you can bet Trumpites and their base would be calling him a traitor, accusing him of treason and demand he's impeached. Hell, they'd probably be marching on the White House with their AR-15s! Instead Trump gets steady approval ratings. I mean seriously, what the fuck has happened to America??????
Oh fuck off. Some of us with brains could see this shit show coming a mile away and you lot all denied it and played the partisan game, calling even those of us that were foreign salty liberals and Hillary lovers. Now you've seen what a disaster this has turned out to be you're gonna "right the ship"? This was never about partisanship from my perspective. I and others, especially the Non-Americans, were always very clear in my view that Trump transcended party politics and was a danger to the world for all people and unfit for the presidency. Too many of you didn't want to know. Right the Ship. Do me a favour. The genie is out of the permatan bottle now. The damage is done and will get worse over the next two and a half years - and you are partly to blame for turning a blind eye to and/or voting for this madness.
World: "America is alienating it allies!" Republicans: "America needs no allies!" Fast forward to the next war: Republicans: "Where are our allies when we need them?" World: It's getting to the point someone needs to infiltrate the alt-right and come up with some spurious details that oxygen causes cancer and water makes you gay, and just wait for natural selection to take to the stage.
This wasn't Putin. This was just Trump. If Putin had orchestrated that it would have been done with a semblance of subtlety. At times Putin looked a bit like a resurrected Laurence Olivier finding himself in an Adam Sandler movie.
If I was being cruel, I'd say Obama - 8 years of numbness wearing off, and all those broken thoughts breaking for the surface, screaming for air. Millions of Dr Jekyll's downing the alt-right serum to create a giant fucking orange Oompah-Loompah Mr Hyde, and unleashed the brute. Maybe Trump never used to exist, but all that fear just tore reality a new arsehole, and out shat Trump and reality rewrote itself to accommodate.
Okay, Mr. Steele, what are you going to do about it? As ex-RNC chair, I'm sure you've quite the rolodex. If you feel our President has been compromised by a hostile power, I'm sure you are going to blow it up convincing all the pillars of your party to ditch him for the good of the country right? Right?
You mean like Paul Ryan, John Cornyn, John McCain, Bob Corker, and Ben Sasse? https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/07/16/politics/congress-reaction-trump-putin-comments/index.html
Are you sure those will be free and fair and that Republicans aren't working with Russia right now to rig this election? I mean they did that with the last one.
This is literally Constitutionally treason - “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” If this isn’t adhering to our enemies, giving them aid and comfort, I don’t know what is. Trump refused to execute sanctions against Russia and denies their prior and continuing attacks on our election systems, attacks which would have 30 years ago been carried out by spies and soldiers. That is literally Aid and Comfort to our enemy. Trump must be impeached, now.
Republican and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats has just basically called Trump a liar. I expect the Trumpites will call that Fake News as well....
