I and others have been accused in the past of having "meltdowns" on the board. Mainly in the Red Room.

Exactly what do you call a "meltdown" when the Red Room is supposedly a free fire zone where everything is permitted aside from personal threats.

Yet if you have 20 people attacking you and insulting you personally, just what is so wrong with 20 responses to those attacks and insults? Doesn't every attack justify retaliation in some way?

I think a meltdown is when you react in such a way as to show you are being genuinely annoyed by what people are doing.

For instance, the day recently when I had given you quite a lot of neg reps and you shit the bed and posted up a call out thread because it. That, coupled with your past admission that neg reps genuinely bother you, points towards you getting triggered and upset by it all.

Your routine complaining about people not agreeing with you and affording you respect by default could also be viewed as a long term melt. Despite the inherent stupidity in both actively disrespecting those you are demand king respect from, and ignoring all the reasons they give you for no respecting you, you still regularly complain about it as if your treatment is unjust. This demonstrates a continual personal frustration that people don’t accept your self proclaimed superiority over them. In other words the board isn’t somewhere you just treat as a casual place like most of us do. To you it is an importantly place where you are desperate to be admired and feel a sense of injustice if people aren’t worshiping you and agreeing with 90% of your content. So again, taking it all too personally and seriously.

It's generally marked by a break from reality coupled with emotional outbursts that appear random or wildly disproportionate.

No, and that is something you badly need to learn.
A meltdown is an emotional outburst - like when you start threatening to physically confront someone here.

You want to learn from the best go over to Troll Kingdom and witness John Castle's three to four year meltdown that still continues to this day. I don't think any present Wordforger could come close to that. Not even Dayton.

Please. I was there during Jillian Bacardi's epic meltdown following her ban at Lonaf. Castle's meltdown may be exponentially longer and tedious, but hers was a sight to behold.

One thing I have liked about President Trump, when he is attacked or insulted he hits back, almost always twice as hard as he is attacked initially. To me it is an important principle. If you are unwilling to defend yourself you can't expect anyone else to defend you either. Also if you don't hit back it gives credence to whatever allegations or charges are made against you in the first place.

I thought a meltdown lived in the same neighborhood as a genuine conniption.
Leave it to the internet to lower the threshold to "all right, cut that out now...".
    Meh.

So does a drunken idiot at a bar with his shirt ripped off.
Are you impressed by drunken bloodey-nosed idiots on COPS?
    Are they your heroes?

So, two eyes for one eye, and two teeth for one tooth?

Bad enough when you get your crap from the Bible, but when you come up with your own ideas in your own head, it always seems worse.

Geez, our allies would be delighted to hear that, President Kitchens...

Ah, yes, the "the kids at the naughty-boys table will laugh at me", principle.

Many of us would prefer that the president of the United States have the emotional maturity to be the bigger man.

A small, insecure manchild is not who we need in that seat.

I totally disagree - when you are attacked (not physically of course) and hit back or otherwise get upset you are just playing "their game". And rarely is Trump "defending himself" from anything important or damaging. He's just reacting to personal/character attacks out of lack of self control or bruised ego. And ignoring attacks does not in any way give credence to allegations. When you ignore attacks it puts out a message that you are in control and are above petty insults and accusations. Ignoring inconsequential attacks shows that you have much more important things to focus on.

Tafkats comments in post #20 sum it up well. Sorry but at age 70 you really should be a "class act" by now. Not saying a president shouldn't be passionate or animated or down-to-earth at times - but acting like you are still in middle school is very off-putting and not at all inspirational.

It is the rhetoric of a weak man who feels hitting and fighting make right, but who seems to have skated through life beating his wife and running over little old ladies choosing his victims based on whether or not he can kick their ass with one foot. Let us also not forget he wants others to fight wars against oppressed people already getting their asses kicked, but who would never join up to fight because of his bone spurs, and probably because he would shit himself.

Dayton ignores Christ while utilizing the people spending life in prison because they assaulted or murdered because someone disrespected them. Perhaps we should change his name to pennsyltucky.

I have to agree, the expectation of an older person to be a class act does not fit with experience and reality. When we realize a lot of elderly people grew up at a time when racism, homophobia, and sexism were all accepted social values there is no reason to expect their life of experience where those values were regarded as good is going to be overwritten by realizations a class act would treat others with respect. Experience with the elderly shows they don't give a fuck about being nice.

You should hear the way some of these entitled Boca elderly a scholar talk. Anyone who thinks Haitians are violent people has never seen them as staff or nurses to an elderly white person. That they do not kill these elderly white scholars amazes me. I have wanted to beat the crap out of the elderly walking through the supermarket, and I am not wiping their ass taking racist and sexist abuse from them. There is a reason Trump insists on Haitian immigrants to work at his resorts, and it is because they will take a ton of abuse from the nastiest people and still smile and be polite.the women especially are damned near saintly given the shit elderly throw at them, and sometimes it is actually shit too.

The hopes are that over the course of their lifetime, they've gained decades of experience by which to temper their behavior. Someone like Trump shows that whether 17 or 70, he lacks self-control. He is an incurious, ill-tempered, emotional dullard.

Some people are capable of growing with age ... becoming more secure and gaining emotional maturity.

Somehow Trump never managed to advance beyond the emotional maturity of a petulant five-year-old.

Why should I tell you? You are the one claiming to live by Christian values. That you dodge the question only serves to reinforce the idea that you don't know much about your own scripture.

because hopefully you learn more about appreciating life and strive for self improvement, and have mastered interacting with society in general while balancing that with your own healthy need for self fulfillment. Muhammed Ali (and probably others before him, you know how quotes are tossed about) said something to the effect of "the man who is the same at 50 as he was at 20 has learned nothing".
